What Florida Sunbiz Company & Officer Data MCP server does
Florida Sunbiz Company & Officer Data MCP server exposes Florida Division of Corporations registry research through The Company Atlas. The underlying data covers corporations, LLCs, partnerships, and non-profits, along with company status, filing type, addresses, FEI/EIN information, filing dates, officers, managers, members, and registered agents.
The service has three MCP tools. Florida_search_companies finds entities using one or more filters, including name, filing type, active status, city, ZIP code, FEI/EIN, and filing-date range. Florida_get_company returns a detailed record for a known Sunbiz document number, including people associated with the entity, its registered agent, FEI number, mailing address, and last transaction. Florida_search_officers searches for entities where a person or registered-agent firm appears in the filing and returns the listed role and title.
How it works
The repository points clients to a hosted MCP endpoint rather than starting an independent local process. Connect using the Streamable HTTP URL https://thecompanyatlas.com/mcp/florida. Authentication uses Google OAuth; after signing in, the authorization remains available to the client as described by the project documentation.
Company search filters are combined with AND logic, so a request must include at least one filter. Name and address searches use substring matching. Officer searches also use a substring of the name as filed, which is commonly formatted like LAST, FIRST M. Company search results support pagination, with a documented maximum limit of 50 and a default of 20.
The source data is the Florida Division of Corporations Sunbiz bulk export. Queries are therefore suited to registry-focused research and should be interpreted as searches against that source rather than as a separate company database.
Setup and configuration
Add https://thecompanyatlas.com/mcp/florida as a custom MCP connector in Claude, Cursor, or another compatible MCP client. Complete the Google sign-in prompt when requested. No local server command, package installation, or repository-specific environment variable is documented for this connection.
The documentation lists the connection transport as Streamable HTTP and the authentication method as Google OAuth. Additional connection guidance is available at https://thecompanyatlas.com/mcp/connect/florida.
Tools and capabilities
- Search companies by entity name, Sunbiz filing type, active status, city, ZIP, FEI/EIN, or filing date.
- Combine company filters with AND logic and paginate results.
- Retrieve a full company profile by Sunbiz document number, such as
L21000123456.
- Inspect officers, managers, members, registered agents, addresses, FEI numbers, and last transactions in a company profile.
- Find every listed entity associated with a person or registered-agent firm, including the recorded role and title.
Limitations and notes
The company search requires at least one filter, and its limit value cannot exceed 50. The document number lookup depends on having a Sunbiz document number. Officer matching follows the name as filed and uses substring search, so the input may need to reflect the registry’s naming format.
Florida Sunbiz Company & Officer Data MCP server is a hosted connection supplied by The Company Atlas; the repository does not operate a separate server. The stated source is the Sunbiz bulk export, and the provided material does not document additional data sources, local deployment, or environment variables.
