Open the MCP panel
In the Roo Code sidebar, click the MCP servers icon. From there choose Edit Global MCP to open mcp_settings.json, or Edit Project MCP to create .roo/mcp.json in the workspace.

Add the server under mcpServers
Add a named entry with "command", "args", and "env". Roo Code uses the standard mcpServers shape, so configs from Cline or Claude Desktop paste in directly. Project entries override global ones with the same name.

Confirm it is connected
Save the file. The MCP panel shows each server with a status dot, lets you restart or disable it, and lists its tools with per-tool auto-approve toggles.
