Create the mcpServers folder
Create a .continue/mcpServers/ folder at the top level of your workspace. Each server gets its own YAML or JSON file inside it.
Add a server file
Continue accepts its own YAML block format, and it also reads JSON files in the Claude Desktop / Cursor mcpServers shape — so you can drop an existing mcpServers JSON file into the folder unchanged.
Use the tools in agent mode
MCP tools are only available in Continue agent mode. Switch the chat to Agent and the server tools appear in the tool list.
