What Doctoreto MCP server does
The Doctoreto MCP server gives an AI agent read-only access to public Doctoreto data for healthcare services in Iran. It can locate doctors by city, speciality, neighborhood, gender, insurance, name, visit type, or appointment availability. It also returns provider profiles, office details, online consultation services, fees, deposits, addresses, review summaries, and upcoming free times.
Beyond individual doctors, the server covers hospitals, clinics, laboratories, imaging centers, and pharmacies. Agents can search for centers by location, category, opening status, ownership, or proximity to a point, then inspect hours, departments, accepted insurers, laboratory rules, services, and associated doctors. Offer tools expose fixed-price procedures and packages, including terms, deposits, providers, variants, and available times.
The server also includes Doctoreto’s health magazine, allowing agents to retrieve articles related to conditions, tests, and treatments. Results are compact JSON. Prices are reported in Toman, appointment times use Tehran local time, and dates use the Gregorian YYYY-MM-DD format.
How it works
The Doctoreto MCP server runs on the user’s machine and communicates with an MCP client through stdio. It sends HTTPS requests to Doctoreto’s public endpoints for doctors, appointments, reviews, centers, and offers, and to the site’s blog for health articles. There is no hosted intermediary, authentication flow, or API key described in the supplied material.
A typical provider lookup starts with dt_search_doctors, followed by dt_doctor for services and fees, dt_free_slots for availability, and dt_reviews for feedback. dt_suggest can help translate a free-form phrase into matching doctors, speciality slugs, service tags, or centers. Doctor, center, and offer records use a six-character identifier; the corresponding page URL is also accepted.
Setup and configuration
Install Python 3.10 or newer and uv, then register the server with an MCP client using:
claude mcp add doctoreto -- uvx doctoreto-mcp
The package can also be installed with pip install doctoreto-mcp and run as doctoreto-mcp. Claude Desktop, Cursor, Claude Code, and VS Code setup examples are provided by the project. Cursor and VS Code also have installation links in the repository documentation.
No authentication configuration is required. DOCTORETO_MCP_PROXY is an optional setting for routing requests through an HTTP proxy. The server uses stdio rather than a hosted HTTP deployment.
Tools and capabilities
The 14 tools are grouped around discovery, provider details, centers, offers, and articles:
dt_suggest, dt_search_doctors, dt_specialities, dt_cities, dt_neighborhoods, and dt_insurances support provider discovery and search filters.
dt_doctor, dt_free_slots, and dt_reviews return provider services, appointment availability, and review data. Review results omit reviewer names.
dt_search_centers and dt_center cover hospitals, clinics, labs, imaging locations, and pharmacies.
dt_search_offers and dt_offer cover fixed-price procedures and packages.
dt_health_articles retrieves health magazine content about conditions, tests, or treatments.
Availability can be requested for individual office, phone, video, offer, or laboratory services for up to 31 days. Search results can be sorted, including by earliest free appointment where supported.
Limitations and notes
The Doctoreto MCP server is unofficial and read-only. It cannot log in, make appointments, process payments, or submit reviews. Agents should provide the relevant Doctoreto page link when a user is ready to book. It is intended for finding and comparing healthcare services, not for medical advice.
Fees and appointment slots can change frequently, so returned values should be treated as current lookup results rather than guarantees. Online service prices should be obtained from dt_doctor; a name slug alone cannot resolve a record without its six-character ID or page URL.
