What the xurprise MCP server does

The xurprise MCP server gives MCP-compatible agents access to a curated merchant catalogue covering services and retailers such as Shopee, Xiaomi, Sephora, JD Sports, Shein, Airpaz, WPS Office, FusionHome AI, and The Trade Wizard. The catalogue includes shipping-region information so an agent can narrow recommendations to merchants that serve a user's country.

Its main discovery operation is search_brands. Agents can search by free text and optionally provide a region, category, and result limit. Search ranking considers brand names, descriptions, categories, aliases, and a multilingual keyword index. Supported search languages include English, Simplified and Traditional Chinese, Malay, Indonesian, Vietnamese, Thai, Japanese, and Korean.

The xurprise MCP server also creates canonical click-through links. get_click_url produces a tracked link for a merchant's storefront, while wrap_product_url accepts a product URL from a supported merchant and returns a tracked link that redirects to that exact item. An optional aff_sub value can carry an agent session identifier or similar attribution value.

How it works

The hosted endpoint is https://xurprise.ai/api/mcp. It implements MCP version 2024-11-05 over Streamable HTTP, is stateless, and does not require authentication or an SDK. Agents call the endpoint using normal MCP tool requests. Raw clients can also send JSON-RPC over HTTP.

A typical discovery flow is:

1. Call list_regions to see whether the user's country is represented.
2. Call list_categories when the available catalogue categories are needed.
3. Search with search_brands, optionally supplying the user's region and a category.
4. Call get_brand to retrieve the complete record for a selected slug.
5. Generate a storefront link with get_click_url, or wrap a known product URL with wrap_product_url.

List-returning tools expose object-shaped results, such as results, regions, or categories, in their structured response. MCP clients handle this response format automatically; applications decoding raw JSON-RPC responses need to account for it.

Setup and configuration

No local server process or environment variable is required when using the hosted endpoint. Claude Desktop can connect directly through its remote HTTP configuration, or use mcp-remote as a bridge for versions that do not support the native HTTP option. Cursor uses the endpoint URL in its MCP configuration. Cline and Continue can use the same remote URL, with client-specific configuration paths determined by their documentation. Clients that only support stdio can use mcp-remote.

The endpoint can also be called from scripts or other HTTP-capable applications. Requests use JSON-RPC with tools/call, the tool name, and an arguments object.

Tools and capabilities

• search_brands: Search the catalogue with optional region, category, and result-limit filters.
• get_brand: Retrieve the full record for a brand slug.
• list_regions: Return shipping regions represented in the catalogue.
• list_categories: Return available catalogue categories.
• get_click_url: Create an attribution-tracked storefront URL and optionally pass an aff_sub value.
• wrap_product_url: Create product-level attribution links for supported merchant domains.

The product wrapper supports URLs on Shopee SG, Xiaomi, Sephora SG, JD Sports SG, Shein, Airpaz, WPS Office, FusionHome AI, and The Trade Wizard, including deep product paths and supported subdomains. Taobao is excluded from product-level wrapping and is available only through brand-level attribution.

Limitations and notes

The catalogue is curated and does not represent every merchant or product. wrap_product_url does not discover products itself: the agent must obtain a supported merchant URL through web search, existing knowledge, or another tool. Its accepted domains are restricted to the supported merchant list, and Taobao cannot be wrapped at the product level. Region matching helps filter catalogue recommendations but should not be treated as a guarantee of a merchant's current shipping availability.
