What Wynncraft does
The Wynncraft MCP server exposes read-only lookup tools for data from the Wynncraft Minecraft MMO. Available queries cover individual players, character lists, guilds, online players, leaderboards, items, and official news. Player lookups accept either a UUID or username, while guild queries accept a name or prefix.
The item tools provide access to the full item database and name-based item searches. Leaderboard requests accept a leaderboard type and an optional result limit. Supported examples include combat global level, professions global level, guild level, and global player content.
This is an independent, unofficial integration. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or published by Wynncraft's upstream provider. No API key is required for the documented usage.
How it works
The integration reads from https://api.wynncraft.com/v3 and presents the available lookups through MCP. You can run the package as a local process that communicates over stdin and stdout, or use the hosted Pipeworx endpoint over a remote MCP connection.
The standalone process exposes only the Wynncraft pack's tools. The hosted pack endpoint exposes those tools along with shared Pipeworx meta-tools, including ask_pipeworx, discover_tools, search_within, and remember/recall. The gateway's ask_pipeworx tool can route a plain-language question to an appropriate catalog tool, including tools outside the Wynncraft pack.
For a developer evaluating the Wynncraft MCP server, the main distinction is scope: local stdio keeps the connection limited to Wynncraft tools, while the gateway adds shared tools and access to the broader Pipeworx catalog. The gateway's initialization response is the authoritative source for the tools exposed by that connection.
Setup and configuration
Add the hosted endpoint to an MCP client with this URL:
{
"mcpServers": {
"wynncraft": {
"url": "https://gateway.pipeworx.io/wynncraft/mcp"
}
}
}
For a local setup, configure the client to run the package with npx:
{
"mcpServers": {
"wynncraft": {
"command": "npx",
"args": ["-y", "@pipeworx/mcp-wynncraft"]
}
}
}
The package can also be started directly with npx -y @pipeworx/mcp-wynncraft. The local mode does not require a Pipeworx account or a gateway round trip. The README also documents a full gateway URL, https://gateway.pipeworx.io/mcp, for clients that need every pack's tools listed directly.
Tools and capabilities
The pack provides these tools:
player for player statistics
player_characters for a player's character list
guild for guild details
guild_list for all guilds
online_players for players currently online, grouped by server
leaderboard for ranked results and selected leaderboard types
item_database for the complete item database
item_search for searching items by name
news for the official news feed
The same operations can be called through the gateway's HTTP interface. For example, a client can send a JSON POST request to the documented wynncraft_player tool endpoint.
Limitations and notes
The integration is limited to the data and operations exposed by the Wynncraft API v3; the provided material documents lookup tools rather than gameplay actions or account mutation. Hosted pack connections include shared gateway meta-tools, so their tool list is larger than the Wynncraft-specific list. The local server does not include those meta-tools or cross-catalog routing. The package is released under the MIT license.
