Eight no-key MCP tools for mortgage, investing, FIRE, loans, credit costs, inflation, and debt payoff calculations.
Copy the AI prompt to install this server into Claude Code, Cursor, or another agent ā or use 1-click editor setup below.
This server is confirmed live ā we successfully called its tools/list endpoint directly (see the verified badge above). We haven't yet sandbox-tested the stdio install command below specifically, which is a separate, ongoing check.

Inspect callable tools, capabilities, and parameters exposed to AI agents by Axiom Calculator MCP.
mortgage_calculatorCalculate monthly mortgage payment, total interest paid, and full amortization summary. Returns the monthly principal+interest payment, total interest over the loan life, total cost of the home, break-even analysis, and the first 12 months of amortization. Optionally includes property tax and insurance in the total monthly cost.
rent_vs_buyCompare total cost of renting vs buying over a given number of years. Accounts for mortgage payments, equity built, opportunity cost of down payment, rent increases over time, and home appreciation. Returns which option is cheaper and by how much over the analysis period.
compound_interestProject investment growth with compound interest and optional regular contributions. Shows final value, total contributions, total interest earned, and a year-by-year growth table. Uses the standard compound interest formula with optional periodic contributions.
fire_numberCalculate your FIRE (Financial Independence, Retire Early) number and timeline. Finds the portfolio size needed to cover your expenses indefinitely using the chosen withdrawal rate. If you provide current savings and annual savings rate, also estimates how many years until you reach FIRE.
inflation_adjusted_returnCalculate the real (inflation-adjusted) return on an investment. Shows the difference between nominal growth and actual purchasing power growth. Useful for understanding if your investments are truly beating inflation.
loan_comparisonCompare two loan options by total cost, monthly payment, and true APR. Helps decide between a lower rate with higher fees vs higher rate with lower fees, or shorter term (higher payment, less interest) vs longer term (lower payment, more interest).
The vdalhambra/axiom-calculator-mcp MCP server gives MCP-compatible AI clients access to eight personal finance calculations. It covers housing decisions, investment projections, retirement planning, financing comparisons, and debt repayment without requiring an API key.
The results are designed to answer practical questions such as the monthly cost of a mortgage, the long-term difference between renting and buying, the portfolio needed for financial independence, or the savings from making additional debt payments.
The server runs locally as a stdio process. An MCP client starts the package with uvx axiom-calculator-mcp, then exposes the calculator tools to the connected agent. Users provide the relevant financial assumptions in a prompt or tool call, and the server returns calculated figures and, for several tools, supporting tables or comparisons.
Calculations use the supplied values rather than an external data source. The package does not require API keys, accounts, or a separate hosted service. Its README also states that it has no rate limits.
For a client that supports stdio MCP servers, configure the server with the uvx runner and the axiom-calculator-mcp package:
Claude Desktop and Claude Code are documented setup targets. The repository also provides a direct uvx axiom-calculator-mcp command for other MCP clients that support stdio. From source, the README documents cloning the repository and running uv run axiom-calculator.
No environment variables or credentials are required. The project is released under the MIT license.
The vdalhambra/axiom-calculator-mcp MCP server provides these tools:
