Overview

Tolk2Go Interpreter Booking connects an MCP client to Tolk2Go for finding, requesting, selecting, changing, and cancelling interpreter assignments. It supports sworn and qualified interpreters for on-site, phone, and video bookings, with discovery tools for languages, language pairs, situations, and qualifications. Account-scoped booking actions use a Tolk2Go agent key, while the MCP endpoint is provided over Streamable HTTP. Reach for it when an agent needs to coordinate an interpreter booking and keep track of payment, responses, changes, or cancellation state.

Use cases

  • Find a sworn interpreter for a legal appointment
  • Request phone or video interpretation for a scheduled assignment
  • Track interpreter responses and booking payment status
  • Show cancellation terms before confirming a selection
  • Update or cancel an existing interpreter booking

Key features

  • Language and language-pair discovery
  • Qualification-aware availability searches

How Tolk2Go Interpreter Booking works

What Tolk2Go Interpreter Booking does

Tolk2Go Interpreter Booking gives an AI agent access to the Tolk2Go interpreter-booking workflow. It can identify bookable language pairs and assignment situations, find interpreters using the same filters as the Tolk2Go search page, and create an interpreter request for a specified time range.

The service covers on-site, phone, and video assignments. Availability results include interpreter IDs, ratings, prices before and after VAT, and paging information. Qualification filters can be used when a customer needs a sworn interpreter or another specific qualification.

After a request is created, the agent can check which interpreters responded, preview the exact terms for a proposed selection, and select an interpreter after customer approval. It can also read booking state, submit supported changes, and cancel an owned booking.

How it works

The MCP endpoint is available at https://api.tolk2go.com/api/v1/mcp using Streamable HTTP. A client sends the Tolk2Go agent key as a Bearer token in the Authorization header.

A typical booking flow is:

  1. List languages, language pairs, situations, and any required qualification types.
  2. Search availability using the resulting IDs and the assignment details.
  3. Create a request, supplying one or more preferred interpreter IDs from the fresh availability search.
  4. Check for interpreter responses later; an empty response means the agent should wait and poll again according to the booking’s recommended interval.
  5. Preview the proposed selection and show its time, location or call type, price, payment terms, and cancellation terms to the customer.
  6. Select the interpreter only after explicit approval.
  7. If a payment URL is returned, provide it to the customer and check the booking until it is confirmed.

The knowledge-search tool can answer supported questions about Tolk2Go services, policies, booking steps, statuses, cancellation, and payment from approved knowledge passages.

Setup and configuration

Create a Tolk2Go account, then log in to obtain a short-lived token. Use that token to issue an agent key, which is shown only once. Store the key in the MCP client’s secret configuration and send it as a Bearer token.

A client configuration has this shape:

config.json
{
  "mcpServers": {
    "tolk2go": {
      "type": "http",
      "url": "https://api.tolk2go.com/api/v1/mcp",
      "headers": {
        "Authorization": "Bearer t2g_agent_..."
      }
    }
  }
}

Agent keys default to 90 days and can be issued for 7 to 365 days. They can be listed, rotated, or revoked after logging in again. The optional agent skill can be installed with npx skills add Tolk2Go-Organization/agent-skills.

Tools and capabilities

  • Discover supported languages, bookable language pairs, assignment situations, and qualification providers.
  • Search current interpreter availability with assignment, language, and qualification filters.
  • Create owner-scoped interpreter requests and nominate preferred interpreters.
  • List bookings, retrieve authoritative booking and payment state, and poll interpreter responses.
  • Preview and approve interpreter selections with customer confirmation.
  • Request supported changes or cancel an owned booking.
  • Search approved Tolk2Go knowledge for workflow and policy answers.

Limitations and notes

Availability should be searched immediately before creating a booking so interpreter IDs and prices remain current. Selecting an interpreter commits the customer, so the preview and explicit approval steps are required first. Interpreter requests may take time to receive responses; the service’s polling guidance should be followed rather than treating an empty response as a rejection. The knowledge tool should only support answers with directly relevant returned passages.

Frequently Asked Questions about Tolk2Go Interpreter Booking

Tolk2Go Interpreter Booking is an MCP server that connects AI clients to the Tolk2Go interpreter-booking service. Its main tools discover languages and availability, create interpreter requests, track responses and bookings, preview and select interpreters, request changes, cancel bookings, and search approved Tolk2Go knowledge.

Configure your MCP client with Tolk2Go’s Streamable HTTP URL and an agent-key Bearer header; no local server package is required. Create an account, log in, issue an agent key, and store it in the client’s secret configuration. The optional agent skill can be added with npx.

Authenticate account-scoped requests with a Tolk2Go agent key sent as an Authorization Bearer token. Obtain one by logging in to Tolk2Go and issuing an agent key. The plaintext key is displayed once, so store it securely; keys can later be rotated or revoked after another login.

Preview the exact selection first and obtain explicit customer approval before calling the selection tool. The preview includes time, service type or location, price including VAT, payment terms, and cancellation terms. If selection returns a payment URL, provide it to the customer and poll the booking until confirmed.

Use the responses tool after creating a request and poll again when the result is empty. The booking includes a recommended wait interval. Once an interpreter responds as available, preview that interpreter’s selection before requesting customer approval and committing the booking.
