What Switchboard Finance MCP server does
Switchboard Finance MCP server helps an AI assistant assess Australian business-finance scenarios for self-employed applicants. It covers published information and fit checks for areas including ATO debt, caveat loans, second mortgages, private lending after a bank decline, commercial property, development, equipment, truck and vehicle finance, invoice finance, overdrafts, bad credit, motels, and pubs.
The service is listed in the 💰 Finance & Fintech category. It can identify finance types that may suit a scenario, show observed product ranges, retrieve source-backed information, and send a single enquiry to a licensed broker when the person has consented.
How it works
The hosted service is available at https://api.switchboardfinance.com.au/mcp through Streamable HTTP and does not require sign-in. An MCP-compatible client sends tool calls to the endpoint. check_fit evaluates details such as requested loan size, LVR, timing, and trading history, then reports documents commonly needed, deal-breakers, and an expected callback timeframe. Where supported, it can render an interactive MCP Apps card.
list_products returns observed loan sizes, funding times, LVR ranges, and rate ranges for the available finance types. search and fetch support finding published material and retrieving its full text with a source URL. request_callback transmits one consented enquiry to a licensed broker and returns a reference plus an expected contact time. The callback operation is idempotent.
Setup and configuration
Connect the endpoint as a remote HTTP MCP server. The README documents custom-connector setup for Claude, developer-app setup for ChatGPT, and direct configuration for Claude Code, VS Code, Cline, and Cursor. Claude Code can add it with claude mcp add --transport http; VS Code and Cursor can use the endpoint in their MCP configuration. No environment variables or local server installation are described.
The service also publishes API documentation at https://api.switchboardfinance.com.au/docs, an OpenAPI document at /openapi.json, and an A2A agent card at /.well-known/agent-card.json.

Limitations and notes
Switchboard Finance MCP server provides general information only. It does not identify a lender, make a credit decision, issue an offer, or provide advice. Consumer loans are outside scope. The callback feature is an enquiry to a licensed broker, not an approval or completed loan application.
The repository documents a hosted service and is not itself open source. Only information that a person agrees to send through request_callback is received. Switchboard Finance is operated by Switchboard Finance Pty Ltd, Credit Representative 576702 of Australian Credit Licence 517192. Privacy, terms, and support links are provided by the service.
