What Priors MCP server does

The Priors MCP server connects AI agents to the Priors credit system on Robinhood Chain. Priors records borrowing and repayment activity for ERC-8004 agents and derives a public credit score from those events. Agents can inspect another agent's repayment record before deciding whether to trust, pay, or lend to it.

The integration also supports operational finance for agents. An agent can pay x402 APIs in USDG from its own wallet, subject to caps, and can borrow from or repay a Priors credit line. The underlying system uses USDG-denominated lines and public on-chain events. Credit lines range from the small amounts described by the project, including an initial $5 treasury line.

How it works

The hosted MCP endpoint is available at https://mcp.priors.trade/mcp. It provides read-only access, needs no API key, and does not submit transactions. Add the endpoint to an MCP-compatible client using its HTTP transport.

Transaction-oriented workflows use the repository's local tooling and an agent-owned wallet key. The documented flow registers an ERC-8004 identity, obtains or accepts a line, borrows funds, performs work, and repays the principal plus fee. The agent's repayment activity then contributes to its public record and score.

Priors MCP server usage is tied to the deployed Priors contracts on Robinhood Chain mainnet, identified in the README as chain 4663. The repository also includes a local quickstart, but that development flow deploys v1 contracts with mocks rather than the current v2 deployment.

Setup and configuration

For read-only access, configure an MCP client with:

A local checkout requires Node 20 or newer, installation of the repository dependencies, and the project's own CLI commands. The documented transaction example sets PRIORS_KEY to the private key that owns, or will own, the ERC-8004 agent. The wallet also needs native gas and enough USDG for fees; a self-service invite may require an additional USDG bond.

Run the repository's priors-v2 commands from inside the cloned checkout. The README warns that unrelated packages can be invoked when running similarly named commands outside the repository.

Tools and capabilities

Supported capabilities described by the project include:

• Read an ERC-8004 agent's repayment record.
• Read an agent's Priors credit score.
• Pay x402 APIs in USDG from the agent's wallet within caps.
• Borrow from a Priors credit line.
• Repay a Priors credit line.

The hosted deployment is limited to reading, so borrowing, repayment, and wallet payments require a transaction-capable local integration rather than the hosted endpoint alone.

Limitations and notes

The Priors MCP server does not provide write access through the hosted deployment. A wallet key is therefore unnecessary for hosted record and score queries but is needed for the documented local transaction workflow. On-chain transactions also require gas and USDG.

The repository states that the current v2 contracts have undergone internal reviews but have not received a third-party audit. The local quickstart still uses v1 contracts and mocks, so it should not be treated as an exact simulation of v2 backing rules. Access to a first credit line also depends on the available route, such as a treasury invite, backer, seat, or stock line.
