What premium-domains MCP server does
The premium-domains MCP server gives MCP-compatible agents access to Atom.com's curated marketplace of premium, brandable domain names. It can search listings by concept, industry, or style, with each search result representing a real listing and including a buy-now price. It also supports checking a particular domain, generating candidate names tied to live marketplace inventory, estimating value, reviewing listing details, screening for possible trademark conflicts, and preparing a checkout link.
The service is intended for naming and early due diligence. Generated candidates are grounded in current availability and Atom.com inventory rather than being purely invented strings. Appraisals include reasoning and comparable sales, but they remain estimates. Trademark screening is preliminary and does not replace legal advice.
How it works
The hosted endpoint is https://mcp.atom.com/mcp and uses Streamable HTTP with JSON responses. SSE is not supported. Search can be used without an Atom.com account or API key. Tools that access account-linked functions use OAuth 2.1 with PKCE; the MCP client opens Atom.com's consent flow, where the user logs in or creates an account and approves access.
All exposed tools are marked read-only. The checkout tool creates a pre-filled, authenticated Atom.com URL, but it does not charge the user or complete a purchase. Payment and the final transaction take place on Atom.com's own checkout.
Setup and configuration
Add the remote URL as an HTTP MCP server in a compatible client. Claude Desktop can use a custom connector with the endpoint, while Claude Code can be configured with claude mcp add --transport http atom https://mcp.atom.com/mcp. Cursor, VS Code, and other MCP clients can use an HTTP server entry pointing to the same URL.
No client ID, client secret, or environment variable is required. When authentication is needed, dynamic client registration and the OAuth consent flow handle setup. The service's hosted nature means the repository is not the runtime implementation; the live server operates at mcp.atom.com.
Tools and capabilities
The premium-domains MCP server exposes these operations:
search_brandable_domains: Finds Atom.com listings using a concept, industry, or style.
check_domain_availability: Reports whether a domain is available, taken, or premium-listed, and can return curated alternatives.
generate_domain_names: Produces brandable candidates tied to live availability and Atom.com inventory.
appraise_domain: Estimates market value with supporting reasoning and comparable sales.
get_domain_details: Retrieves the full record for an Atom.com listing.
screen_trademark_conflicts: Performs a preliminary comparison against public USPTO records.
get_checkout_link: Returns an authenticated, pre-filled Atom.com checkout URL.
Limitations and notes
Anonymous search is subject to IP-based rate limits. Authenticated operations are limited per token, and exceeded limits return HTTP 429 with a Retry-After header. Availability, inventory, and prices are marketplace data that may change.
The premium-domains MCP server does not itself purchase domains, spend money, or mutate account state. Its trademark results are only an initial screen against public USPTO records, and its valuation output is not an offer. Documentation in the repository is MIT licensed; use of the hosted Atom.com service is governed by Atom.com's terms of service.
