What MrBilit MCP server does

The MrBilit MCP server gives an AI agent read-only access to travel information from MrBilit, an Iranian travel service. It covers domestic and international flights, trains, intercity buses, private door-to-door taxis, and hotels. Queries can be made in Persian or English, and monetary values are returned in Toman.

The server is suited to trip research rather than transaction handling. It cannot log in, reserve a seat, hold inventory, create a booking, or process payment. Users must complete those actions on MrBilit’s website.

How it works

The server runs on the local machine and communicates with an MCP client over stdio. It then makes HTTPS requests to the public endpoints used by MrBilit’s travel, hotel, and content services. No hosted intermediary or API key is required. If the local network cannot reach MrBilit’s API servers, the optional MRBILIT_MCP_PROXY setting can route requests through an HTTP proxy.

Most searches begin with mb_find_place, which returns the relevant flight, train, bus, taxi, or hotel identifier. Flight searches use codes such as IATA airport codes; train searches use station IDs; bus and taxi searches use city IDs; hotel searches use slugs. Results use Gregorian dates in YYYY-MM-DD format, and identifiers from fresh searches can expire, so later detail calls should use current results.

Setup and configuration

Python 3.10 or newer and uv are required for the documented quick-start command:

The package can also be installed with pip install mrbilit-mcp and started with mrbilit-mcp. Claude Desktop, Cursor, Claude Code, and VS Code can use the standard stdio configuration shown in the project documentation. Set MRBILIT_MCP_PROXY to an HTTP proxy URL only when direct access to MrBilit’s services is unavailable.

Tools and capabilities

The 22 tools use the mb_ prefix. Place and provider lookup is handled by mb_find_place and mb_companies. Transport tools can:

• Search flights with cabin, airline, direct-flight, and time filters, including one-way and return trips.
• Compare cheapest daily fares for flights, trains, and buses over supported date ranges.
• Inspect flight baggage, fare rules, refund penalties, and adult, child, and infant prices.
• Search train classes, availability quotas, exact passenger pricing, empty berths, and stop times.
• Find one-change combinations and nearby train stations, bus terminals, and airports.
• Search buses with operators, schedules, VIP status, seats, stops, and refund penalties.
• Display bus seat maps, including available seats and gender-specific sold-seat information.
• Compare private intercity taxis by vehicle class, pickup slot, and price per car.

Hotel tools search available stays, room prices, nightly rates, remaining rooms, meals, ratings, reviews, amenities, rules, and landmarks. mb_city_hotels can also list sold-out hotels without prices. mb_notices, mb_help, and mb_travel_guide provide current service notices, official help content, and route or city information.

The MrBilit MCP server is a fit for the Travel & Transportation category when an agent needs to compare Iranian travel options and explain their conditions, but not when it must finalize a reservation.
