It covers 24 middle-school curricula and 231 high-school curricula, with 3,838 achievement standards, their official text, 5,284 detailed learning topics, 838 learning clusters, 266 intra-subject prerequisite relationships, 175 middle-to-high-school transitions, and 39 high-school course relationships.

The supported scope includes all middle-school subjects, high-school general subjects, and selected specialized tracks in science, arts, and physical education. Specialized vocational subjects are excluded. The dataset is useful for curriculum exploration, prerequisite lookup, study-roadmap generation, and checking how middle-school topics connect to advanced high-school learning.

How it works

The server runs over MCP and exposes eleven tools. Six search or listing tools accept a schoolLevel filter with middle or high: list_curricula, search_standards, search_topics, search_standard_text, get_learning_roadmap, and list_clusters. The remaining tools retrieve records or relationships by ID, code, or subject name.

Search results can identify standards, topics, and official-text matches. Detail tools then return connected records, such as topics linked to an achievement standard, evidence and assessment information for a topic, or prerequisite and follow-on relationships. get_prerequisites can return a topologically ordered transitive path when called with depth: "all". get_transitions checks middle-to-high-school connections in both directions, while get_course_pathway reports recommended ordering between high-school subjects.

These relationships represent structures supported by the cited curriculum sources and DECK6 data. They are not universal claims about the correct learning order for every student.

Setup and configuration

The documented setup uses Node.js 20.11 or later with npx. Claude Code can register the server with npx -y korean-secondary-learning-map-mcp, either for one project or at user scope. Claude Desktop uses the same command and argument in its MCP server configuration, followed by an application restart.

korean-secondary-learning-map-mcp MCP server includes its runtime data in the repository, so ordinary users do not need to rebuild the data pipeline. Rebuilding requires the source datasets and seven curriculum PDFs outside the repository. Set PDF_DIR to the directory containing those PDFs; its default is the repository’s parent directory. The pipeline commands fetch, build, extract, and verify the data separately.

The included text reflects the cited 2022 curriculum notices; the January 2026 revision to notices 3 and 4 is not included. korean-secondary-learning-map-mcp is not an official Ministry of Education, National Education Commission, or NCIC product and does not diagnose individual learners.
