What Jepto MCP server does
The Jepto MCP server gives an AI client access to data and account functions available through Jepto. It can identify accounts and clients, inspect connected sources, search client notes, discover available analytics fields, and run filtered queries over selected date ranges. The available data may include advertising, analytics, search, local business, ecommerce, finance, AI visibility, and BigQuery sources connected to Jepto.
Typical questions cover campaign performance, spend, conversions, budgets, KPIs, client profiles, business locations, reviews, and channel comparisons. Results depend on the sources connected to the Jepto account and the permissions of the signed-in user.
How it works
The Jepto MCP server is hosted at https://mcp.jepto.com and uses Streamable HTTP. Authentication uses OAuth with PKCE; there is no API-key connection described in the documentation. After signing in, the connection covers the Jepto account and the clients visible to that login.
The assistant commonly discovers the account structure in stages: client list, datasource list, analytics schema, then analytics query. Queries can use measures, dimensions, filters, sorting, date ranges, comparisons, relative date tokens, or ISO dates. Fields follow Jepto’s reporting names, such as googleAds.spend and googleAds.campaignName.
Read operations do not change data. Write operations first return a preview, and nothing is saved or applied until the user confirms in chat. Pending confirmations expire after about 10 minutes. Platform credentials remain in Jepto rather than being sent to the AI client or conversation.
Setup and configuration
Create or use a Jepto account with at least one connected data source. Connecting the MCP endpoint does not connect new advertising, analytics, or other platforms; those sources must already be configured in Jepto.
Add https://mcp.jepto.com as a remote server or custom connector in the MCP client. The README provides setup examples for Claude, ChatGPT, Claude Code, Cursor, and VS Code. Other clients must support OAuth with PKCE and remote MCP connections. For Claude Code, the documented command is:
claude mcp add --transport http jepto https://mcp.jepto.com
Tools and capabilities
- Inspect account details, plan, status, timezone, and object counts.
- List clients and review client profiles or stored knowledge.
- List data sources and discover available metrics and dimensions.
- Query live analytics data with filters, comparisons, and date ranges.
- Read, create, update, delete, and forecast KPIs.
- Read, create, update, and delete advertising budgets.
- List available platform actions and skills.
- Preview and execute supported actions after confirmation.
The documented platform action catalog currently includes pausing and re-enabling Google Ads campaigns. Both are described as reversible and medium risk, but campaign delivery changes immediately after execution.
Limitations and notes
The Jepto MCP server exposes what the connected Jepto account and its permissions allow. Without a clientId, list tools return all records visible to the login. Access tokens last 60 minutes, while refresh tokens last 30 days and rotate on refresh. The documented action catalog can change, so clients should use Actions_List to see what is currently available.
