What hirly does
The hirly MCP server brings hirly’s job-matching and application workflow into an AI assistant. It can show jobs matched to your resume, provide each posting with an explanation of how your resume fits, and return a hiring contact when hirly finds one. The assistant can also create a tailored resume as a new saved version without replacing your main resume unless you request that change.
Application actions are deliberately gated. You must enable applying for the connected assistant, and hirly must receive your confirmation for the named job before it starts an application. You can also use the server to record an application you sent yourself, answer employer questions that pause an application, and check application progress.
How it works
The hirly MCP server is hosted by hirly; this repository contains public documentation and registry configuration rather than runnable server code. Clients connect to the remote Streamable HTTP endpoint, then authenticate through OAuth with a hirly account.
After connection, the assistant can request matched jobs and profile information. If an employer’s form requires information only you can provide—such as work authorization, notice period, or salary—the application pauses and the assistant can retrieve the pending questions. Your answers are sent back only when you provide them in chat.
hirly does not sign in to an employer’s website on your behalf or bypass a CAPTCHA. Application states include queued, applying, waiting for your answers, applied, and stopped with a reason.
Setup and configuration
Use the server URL https://mcp.hirly.me/mcp in a client that supports remote MCP servers. Sign in with your hirly account when the client opens the OAuth flow, review the access request, and choose whether the assistant may start applications. Applying remains off unless you enable it, and the setting can later be changed under Connected assistants in hirly.
Claude users can find hirly in Claude’s connectors directory or add it as a custom connector. ChatGPT requires Developer mode and a manually created app using the same server URL and OAuth authentication. Clients that only support local stdio connections can use mcp-remote with the remote URL; this opens hirly sign-in in a browser.
A paid hirly plan is required for more than the five best matches of the day, hiring contacts, saved resume versions, and applying. The free access described in the documentation includes those five matches, their postings, and explanations of resume fit.
Tools and capabilities
The hirly MCP server exposes nine tools:
get_matches lists unacted-on matches in best-first order.
get_job returns a full posting, resume-fit information, and an available hiring contact.
save_resume stores a tailored resume as a new version.
record_application records an application you confirmed sending and the resume version used.
get_profile shows plan details, setup status, and a short main-resume summary.
get_pending_questions retrieves questions blocking applications.
answer_questions submits your answers when applying is allowed.
submit_application starts an application after permission and job confirmation.
get_application_status reports the current state and any reason an application stopped.
Limitations and notes
The service can read matched jobs, postings, resume-fit details, available hiring contacts, profile summaries, pending questions, and application status. It can write saved resume versions, application records, answers, and applications subject to the confirmation rules. It cannot delete account data, read the rest of your hirly account, or access card details. The repository’s documentation and configuration are MIT licensed, while the hosted hirly service is governed by hirly’s terms of service.
