What Fair Value Calculator MCP server does
Fair Value Calculator MCP server gives an AI assistant access to valuation data for more than 35,000 listed stocks worldwide. It reports fair value per share when the available data supports a figure, along with a valuation verdict, distance to the current price, quality score, currency, and data level. If the inputs do not support a reliable number, the service can return a verdict without an exact value.
The valuation combines several models using reported fundamentals and is recalculated daily. These figures are model estimates, not market prices or investment advice. The service also supports account-level watchlists and watchlist email alerts, subject to account permissions and plan limits.
How it works
The service is hosted at https://www.fairvalue-calculator.com/mcp and uses Streamable HTTP. There is no local server process to build, install, or run from this repository; the repository contains documentation and a registry manifest. Authentication uses OAuth 2.1 with dynamic client registration, and a free account is sufficient to sign in.
A typical workflow starts with resolve_stock, which accepts a company name, ticker, or ISIN and can return up to five matching listings. An agent can then request a preview, retrieve a full verdict, compare multiple stocks, or screen stocks by criteria such as minimum distance to fair value, minimum quality, sector, and region.
Setup and configuration
Add the endpoint to an MCP client that supports remote servers, then complete the browser-based sign-in flow when prompted. The Fair Value Calculator MCP server documents connection methods for Claude, Claude Code, Cursor, VS Code, and Codex. Claude Code can use an HTTP transport command, while Cursor, VS Code, and Codex provide equivalent endpoint-based configuration options.
No environment variables or local credentials are required by the documented setup. The hosted service handles authentication. The repository also includes a Cursor plugin that registers the same remote endpoint.
Tools and capabilities
Available tools include:
resolve_stock for matching names, tickers, and ISINs to listings.
get_stock_preview for a verdict, valuation-distance band, and quality score without the exact fair value.
get_stock_verdict for the per-share estimate, currency, price distance, verdict, quality score, data level, and a full-analysis link.
compare_stocks for side-by-side values across several stocks.
screen_stocks for filtering by valuation distance, quality, sector, and region.
get_watchlist, add_to_watchlist, and remove_from_watchlist for the signed-in account's watchlist.
set_watchlist_alerts for enabling or disabling watchlist email alerts on Pro.
Limitations and notes
Free accounts have monthly limits on verdict tools. Exact fair values for all stocks, comparisons of up to five stocks, and alerts are available through Pro according to the provider's current plan rules. The three tools that modify a watchlist or its alerts request separate consent during sign-in.
The Fair Value Calculator MCP server should not be treated as a source of guaranteed prices or investment advice. Coverage and output depend on the reported fundamentals available to its models. The hosted service is proprietary, while the repository's documentation and manifest are licensed under CC BY 4.0.
