AI Manga & Anime Generator - Mangii MCP connects an MCP client to Mangii’s image-generation service for creating manga and anime artwork from natural-language descriptions. Prompts can describe characters, locations, action, mood, lighting, camera angle, and color treatment. The service supports both standalone panels and longer stories built one panel at a time.

The generator offers 24 listed styles, including Modern Shonen, Cinematic Anime, Mecha Sci-Fi, Dark Fantasy, Cyberpunk, Action Manhwa, Watercolor Anime, Sumi-e Ink, and Ligne Claire. A story keeps its selected style after the first panel, so later panels use the same visual direction. Start another story to work in a different style.

How it works

The remote MCP service is available at https://mcp.mangii.ai/mcp, with a fallback endpoint hosted on Google Cloud Functions. An MCP-compatible client sends requests with a Mangii bearer token. Mangii first turns the prompt into a clearer scene description, then renders the requested panel.

For sequential storytelling, create a story before adding panels. Continuing a story normally uses the first panel as the identity reference and the last distinct panel as the scene reference. The available controls let you replace either reference with a panel ID or an image supplied as an HTTPS URL or data URI. If a story ID is no longer available, list existing stories to find it again.

Setup and configuration

Create an API key in the Mangii Developer Console, then provide it on every request as an authorization bearer token. The corresponding environment variable is MANGII_API_KEY:

In Cursor, add a custom remote Streamable HTTP connector with the primary MCP URL and an Authorization: Bearer mangii_sk_… header. Claude Desktop and Claude Code use the same remote URL and header configuration. The service uses bring-your-own-key billing; credits are purchased through Mangii rather than routed through OpenRouter.

Successful generations consume credits by output tier: Standard uses 1, HD uses 2, and Ultra uses 5. Failed generations refund their credits. Weekly in-app credits do not apply to API or MCP requests.

Tools and capabilities

The server exposes tools for:

• Creating and continuing multi-panel stories.
• Regenerating an existing panel.
• Listing panels, stories, and live style IDs.
• Checking generation jobs and available credits.
• Buying credits through the Mangii service.

The manga.list_panels response provides panel IDs and reference roles, including identity and scene. Use those IDs when selecting continuity references for later panels. manga.list_styles is the source of current API style identifiers rather than relying only on display names.

Limitations and notes

The service requires a Mangii API key and a funded Mangii credit balance for generation. Style selection is locked within a story after its first panel, so changing the visual style requires creating a new story. The README documents remote MCP access and named client setup, but does not describe a local installation workflow.
