We couldn’t confirm it starts correctly

The install command started, but didn't respond the way we expected when we tried to talk to it.

npx -y @pipeworx/mcp-zoho_crm

initialize succeeded but no response to tools/list.

This is an experimental automated check and can have false negatives — missing environment variables, a slow cold install, etc. It doesn’t necessarily mean something’s wrong. Last checked 8d ago.

Overview

The Zoho_crm MCP server exposes Zoho CRM API v6 operations through MCP tools for working with modules and records. It supports listing modules, listing and retrieving records, searching by criteria, and creating records. Use the hosted Pipeworx endpoint for gateway access or run the package locally over stdio when you want a standalone connection.

How Zoho Crm works

What Zoho_crm MCP server does

The Zoho_crm MCP server connects MCP-compatible clients to Zoho CRM API v6. Its pack-specific tools cover common record operations across CRM modules such as Leads, Contacts, and Deals. Agents can discover available modules, inspect records, find records matching criteria, and create new records.

The hosted option is part of the Pipeworx gateway. A pack endpoint lists the Zoho CRM tools along with shared Pipeworx meta-tools. Those shared tools can route broader questions through the gateway, while the local package exposes only the Zoho CRM pack tools.

How it works

For hosted use, configure an MCP client with the remote endpoint at https://gateway.pipeworx.io/zoho_crm/mcp. The connection uses a connected Zoho CRM account and requires a Pipeworx key for direct HTTP tool calls. The full Pipeworx endpoint is also available when an agent should access all supported data sources directly.

The local package communicates over standard input and output. Run it with npx -y @pipeworx/mcp-zoho_crm, or configure that command in an MCP client. This mode does not require a Pipeworx account or a gateway round trip, and its initialize, tools/list, and tools/call responses contain only the pack's tools.

Setup and configuration

For the hosted Zoho_crm MCP server, first sign in to Pipeworx, connect the Zoho CRM account, and add the remote URL to the MCP client's server configuration. The README provides configurations for Claude Desktop, Cursor, and Windsurf using the same URL.

For local setup, use an MCP configuration with command set to npx and arguments -y and @pipeworx/mcp-zoho_crm. No environment variables are documented as required for the standalone package. HTTP callers can use the Pipeworx REST interface with a bearer key, including POST /v1/tools/zoho_list_records for a direct tool request.

Tools and capabilities

The Zoho_crm MCP server provides these pack tools:

  • zoho_list_modules: returns the available Zoho CRM modules.
  • zoho_list_records: lists records from a selected module.
  • zoho_get_record: retrieves one record by its ID and module.
  • zoho_search_records: searches a module using criteria.
  • zoho_create_record: creates a record in a selected module.

The hosted endpoint also lists shared Pipeworx tools, including ask_pipeworx, discover_tools, search_within, and remember/recall. These are gateway capabilities rather than additional Zoho CRM pack operations.

Limitations and notes

The available record operations depend on the Zoho CRM modules and account connected to the service. The material does not specify field schemas, criteria syntax, pagination behavior, update or delete operations, or OAuth configuration details, so those should be verified against the connected Zoho CRM account and tool schemas.

The hosted and local modes expose different tool lists: the gateway adds shared meta-tools, while the local process does not.

Frequently Asked Questions about Zoho Crm

Zoho_crm is an MCP server that connects AI agents to Zoho CRM through the Zoho CRM API v6 and provides tools to list modules, list records, retrieve individual records, search by criteria, and create records. It can run locally over stdio or through the Pipeworx gateway.

Install it locally by running `npx -y @pipeworx/mcp-zoho_crm` or adding that command to your MCP client configuration. This standalone mode uses stdio and does not require a Pipeworx account. You can instead configure the hosted Pipeworx MCP URL.

Yes, Zoho_crm works with Cursor through the hosted MCP endpoint shown in the README. Add `https://gateway.pipeworx.io/zoho_crm/mcp` as the server URL, then connect a Zoho CRM account through Pipeworx.

Call the Pipeworx REST endpoint with a bearer Pipeworx key, such as `POST https://gateway.pipeworx.io/v1/tools/zoho_list_records`. The key is obtained after signing in to Pipeworx and connecting Zoho CRM.
