What voidmob-mcp MCP server does

The voidmob-mcp MCP server gives an AI client tools for four main resource types: temporary or long-term SMS numbers, dedicated monthly phone numbers, mobile proxies, and eSIM data plans. It can search available services, show prices and stock, place purchases, read status, and manage resources after purchase.

SMS tools support non-VoIP verification numbers, including rental, cancellation, reuse, and re-rental flows. An agent can read the latest received messages and parsed codes, with an optional wait period while a verification message arrives. Dedicated-number tools cover country availability, monthly purchase, received SMS, auto-renewal, and status.

Proxy tools cover shared mobile and dedicated plans. They can retrieve usage and expiry data, return connection URLs, rotate a dedicated IP, renew or top up a proxy, change gateway credentials, and manage geo-targeted sub-pools. eSIM tools search plans, complete purchases, report installation details and data usage, provide activation QR images, and handle top-ups.

How it works

The MCP process calls the VoidMob service using an API key supplied through the environment. Search operations expose current prices before an agent requests a paid action. Purchases, renewals, top-ups, and paid number reuse require a max_price_cents value; the operation is refused without a charge if the current price exceeds that approved amount.

VoidMob uses a prepaid USD balance. The MCP server cannot add funds. Purchases use idempotency keys, and the server retries a failed connection once with the same key to avoid duplicate charges. If the outcome remains uncertain, the result directs the agent to inspect the relevant status tool, list_orders, or get_account before trying again.

Setup and configuration

Install and run the voidmob-mcp MCP server with npx -y @voidmob/mcp. Create an API key in the VoidMob developer dashboard, fund the account through the dashboard wallet, and expose the key as VOIDMOB_API_KEY. The README provides configurations for Claude Desktop, Claude Code, Cursor, VS Code, Windsurf, Codex CLI, and Gemini CLI.

Optional owner controls can make the process read-only, limit the maximum amount for one order, or impose a session spending budget. These controls apply to live and sandbox operation. VOIDMOB_READ_ONLY=1 removes tools that spend money or change state; VOIDMOB_MAX_ORDER_CENTS limits individual paid actions; and VOIDMOB_BUDGET_CENTS limits cumulative process spending.

Tools and capabilities

The voidmob-mcp MCP server includes tools for account details, order listing with status filters and cursor pagination, SMS service discovery, number rentals, dedicated-number management, eSIM purchasing and usage, proxy provisioning, proxy lists, geographic targeting, and auto-renewal settings.

Use get_geo to inspect country, region, city, and ISP targeting options. Proxy list tools can create, update, and delete geo-targeted sub-pools, or configure IP-whitelist authentication when supported by the operation.

Limitations and notes

SMS verification rentals normally remain open for up to 15 minutes and are refunded when no message arrives, except for services marked non-refundable. Long-term rentals can be cancelled with a full refund within 60 minutes. Dedicated numbers cannot be cancelled through the MCP; disabling renewal allows them to expire. Issued eSIMs cannot be cancelled through the MCP.

The account balance is the available spending limit unless local owner controls impose a lower one. Agents should show or inspect the current price before approving a paid action. A dedicated proxy that cannot be provisioned is refunded automatically. The API key should be supplied through a secret or environment setting rather than pasted into a chat.
