What Vaybel MCP server does
The Vaybel MCP server provides agent workflows for moving from an apparel idea to a product launch or content plan. The repository contains reusable skills rather than a standalone command-line application. Each skill combines TypeScript orchestration with thin wrappers around Vaybel’s public MCP tools.
The workflow set covers the main stages of a clothing-product process:
- Find a trend and turn it into a launch concept.
- Plan a themed drop, including its brief, relevant trends, designs, and readiness.
- Choose a blank, create a design, produce listing mockups, and optionally create product videos.
- Import and optimize an existing Printify or Printful product.
- Create video, slideshow, carousel, or single-post content for a listing.
- Review performance indicators, design snapshots, credit state, and suggested next actions.
How it works
An agent invokes a skill, the skill’s TypeScript runner coordinates the workflow, and the repository’s Vaybel wrappers call mcp.vaybel.com. The underlying MCP and REST interfaces expose primitives; the skill code assembles those primitives into higher-level operations. This makes the repository suitable for developers who want to fork an existing workflow and change its orchestration.
The plan-drop skill groups the process around a release. It can work with a drop brief, identify matching trends, pin them, associate designs, and report readiness. The analyze-insights skill is read-only and helps determine which workflow to run next. Content publishing is explicit rather than implied by content generation.
Setup and configuration
For Claude Code, the documented installation uses the Vaybel marketplace and plugin commands. Configure VAYBEL_PAT in Claude Code settings, then reference the same secret from the Vaybel MCP server configuration.
For manual installation, clone the repository, install its npm dependencies, export VAYBEL_PAT, and run ./setup:
git clone https://github.com/vaybel/skills.git
cd skills
npm install
export VAYBEL_PAT="<your-vaybel-pat>"
./setup
The repository does not require a CLI dependency in version 1. The project also includes plugin metadata for Claude Code, Codex, and Cursor.
Tools and capabilities
The Vaybel MCP server’s repository exposes six named skills:
find-trend accepts a product context and lifecycle filter for trend discovery.
plan-drop manages a release brief, dates, motifs, matching trends, and readiness.
launch-product handles blank selection, design generation, mockups, and optional listing videos.
optimize-product works with an existing Printify or Printful product.
make-content creates listing-related social content for selected channels.
analyze-insights reads management and performance information over a selected range.
The examples show support for listing channels such as TikTok Shop and Etsy, and social channels such as TikTok and Instagram. The exact operation is determined by the selected skill and its arguments.
Limitations and notes
This repository documents workflows and wrappers, not an independent implementation of the Vaybel service. A Vaybel personal access token is required for authenticated calls. The public MCP and REST surfaces are intentionally primitive, so custom business logic may require editing or forking the TypeScript orchestration.
The included validation commands cover structure, type checking, builds, dependency auditing, and host-install smoke tests. Those checks help maintain the repository but do not replace access to Vaybel or credentials for real operations.
