Overview

US Economic, SEC EDGAR & On-Chain Data (x402) provides 21 paid tools for public US economic data, SEC EDGAR filings, direct EVM reads, and two data-processing tasks. Calls use x402 payments settled in USDC on Base, with no account, API key, or subscription required. Agents can use the stateless streamable-HTTP MCP endpoint or individual HTTP routes, while discovery is available through OpenAPI and agent documentation. Reach for it when an agent needs government statistics, filing data, blockchain balances or prices, gas information, JSON repair, or tabular conversion on a per-call basis.

Use cases

  • Query US macroeconomic indicators and release dates
  • Search SEC filings and retrieve company financial data
  • Read EVM token balances, portfolios, prices, and gas
  • Repair structured JSON or convert tabular data
  • Pay for agent data requests with USDC on Base

Key features

  • 21 paid data and computation tools
  • Stateless streamable-HTTP MCP endpoint
  • Per-tool HTTP routes with x402 payment metadata
  • USDC settlement on Base
  • US government, SEC EDGAR, and public-RPC sources
  • OpenAPI and agent-facing discovery documents

How US Economic, SEC EDGAR & On Chain Data (x402) works

What US Economic, SEC EDGAR & On-Chain Data (x402) does

US Economic, SEC EDGAR & On-Chain Data (x402) exposes 21 paid operations through MCP and plain HTTP. The catalog covers US macroeconomic sources including Treasury, BLS, BEA, Census, and EIA data; SEC EDGAR filing and ownership information; direct reads from EVM-compatible networks; and two computation tools for repairing structured JSON and converting tabular data to JSON.

The economic tools include Treasury yield-curve data, CPI, PCE, jobs, GDP, retail sales, housing, energy, and release-calendar queries. SEC tools cover filing feeds, company financials, insider transactions, 13F holdings, and full-text search. On-chain tools retrieve token balances, portfolio data, cross-chain balances, oracle prices, and gas information.

How it works

Each request is priced individually, generally between $0.001 and $0.03, and settled in USDC on Base through the x402 protocol. The service uses a public payout address and does not require an account, API key, private key, or seed phrase from the server operator. Payment is gasless for the payer because the facilitator submits the transaction; a buyer wallet still needs USDC.

Two access paths are available. POST /mcp provides stateless MCP over streamable HTTP. A separate POST /x402/<tool> route exists for every operation and accepts arguments as a JSON body. GET /openapi.json describes the HTTP routes and their payment metadata, while /SKILL.md provides agent usage guidance. Discovery requests such as initialization, tool listing, and ping do not require payment configuration.

Setup and configuration

The production deployment runs on Cloudflare Workers, and a Dockerfile is included for self-hosting the Node entrypoint. Local development uses the project’s npm scripts and a .dev.vars file copied from .dev.vars.example. Production secrets are configured with Wrangler rather than stored in wrangler.toml.

US Economic, SEC EDGAR & On-Chain Data (x402) needs only a public payout address on the server side. The implementation rejects private-key- or seed-shaped configuration. Buyer-side payment tests use PAYER_PRIVATE_KEY; that key belongs to the test wallet and is not a server runtime secret.

Tools and capabilities

The US Economic, SEC EDGAR & On-Chain Data (x402) catalog contains:

  • Nine US macro data tools.
  • Five SEC EDGAR tools.
  • Five EVM on-chain tools.
  • structured_json_repair and tabular_to_json.

All tools wrap public-domain government sources or direct public-RPC reads. The project reports that each operation was checked against live upstream data and documents verification findings separately. Failed calls return an MCP error and are not settled.

Limitations and notes

US Economic, SEC EDGAR & On-Chain Data (x402) does not provide real-time market data. Government statistics can be delayed or revised, and 13F holdings are quarterly and inherently stale. On-chain results depend on the selected network and public RPC reads. The service’s verification documentation records known upstream quirks and the evidence used to test each tool.

The project is licensed under MIT. Its payment design supports per-call access, but every successful request still incurs the listed charge, so clients should inspect route pricing before making repeated calls.

Frequently Asked Questions about US Economic, SEC EDGAR & On Chain Data (x402)

US Economic, SEC EDGAR & On-Chain Data (x402) is an MCP server that connects agents to US government economic data, SEC EDGAR, and direct EVM reads. Its main tools query macro statistics, filings, balances, portfolios, prices, gas, JSON, and tabular data, with per-call USDC payments on Base.

Run the project’s npm setup and start it with the provided development or Node entrypoint commands. Production deployment targets Cloudflare Workers, while the included Dockerfile supports the Node entrypoint. The server requires only a public payout address, not a private key.

Payment is made per call in USDC on Base through x402. Prices range from $0.001 to $0.03 per request, and the facilitator submits the transaction so the payer does not need ETH for gas. Failed calls are returned unsettled.

It can query US macroeconomic statistics, SEC EDGAR filings and ownership data, and direct EVM on-chain information. Available operations include Treasury yields, CPI, GDP, filings, 13F holdings, token balances, portfolios, oracle prices, gas, JSON repair, and tabular conversion.

No. Its government statistics may be delayed or revised, 13F data is quarterly and stale, and the project explicitly notes that these tools are not market data. On-chain tools perform direct reads through public RPC rather than supplying a general market-data feed.
