A side-by-side look at the US Code Federal Statutes and Canlii MCP MCP servers: transport, auth, tools, quality signals, and the config to install either one in Claude, Cursor, Windsurf or VS Code.
Verdict: choose US Code Federal Statutes for legal work over a hosted endpoint; choose Canlii MCP for legal as a local process. You can also run both side by side in one mcpServers block.
CANLII_API, PORT, MCP_AUTH_TOKEN.list_case_databases, list_cases, get_case.Rows where the two servers differ are marked.
