What Uk Contracts MCP server does

Uk Contracts MCP server gives an MCP client access to procurement data from two UK public-sector sources: Contracts Finder and the Find a Tender Service. Contracts Finder covers open tenders and awarded contracts from bodies such as councils, NHS trusts, police forces, universities, and central government departments. Find a Tender focuses on larger, above-threshold UK public contracts.

The data supports procurement research, supplier discovery, opportunity monitoring, and inspection of individual notices. Records can include titles, descriptions, buyers, suppliers, values, CPV classifications, regions, tender periods, deadlines, contacts, awards, and published documents, depending on the source and notice.

How it works

The server exposes five MCP tools. search_notices searches Contracts Finder content by keyword and can filter by procurement stage and publication date. Its search covers notice titles, descriptions, and awarded suppliers. recent_notices returns the latest Contracts Finder records, optionally limited to tenders or awards.

get_notice retrieves a complete Contracts Finder record using an identifier returned by the search or recent-notices tools. It accepts both the bare GUID form and the OCDS release identifier form, routing each to the appropriate endpoint.

For high-value procurement, find_a_tender_recent lists recent Find a Tender notices and awards. Its optional keyword filtering is performed client-side because the upstream API does not provide text search. The tool reports window_complete; when that value is false, the inspected time window may not contain the whole available feed. find_a_tender_notice retrieves full details by OCID.

The hosted endpoint includes the pack tools and shared Pipeworx gateway tools. The local package exposes only the five Uk Contracts tools. The same hosted gateway can also be called through HTTP if an MCP client is unavailable.

Limitations and notes

Both data sources are accessed without an API key. Contracts Finder is the better choice for broad UK procurement searches and lower-value notices because it provides indexed keyword search. Find a Tender is intended for above-threshold procurement; its keyword scan may stop at a page cap, so narrow the date range when window_complete is false. This is an independent integration and is not affiliated with the upstream providers.
