UAPDrop Research Archive — MCP Server

A remote Model Context Protocol server that gives Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor and any other MCP-capable client grounded, citable access to the UAPDrop research corpus: declassified UAP/UFO government documents, a geocoded sighting archive built from national archives, news coverage, and cited entity profiles.

Every result links back to the record it came from, so the assistant's claims can be checked against a primary source rather than taken on trust.

This repository holds the server's public metadata (server.json) and documentation. The server itself is hosted — there is nothing to install or run locally.

What's in the corpus

The underlying sighting dataset is free to download in bulk and always will be. What this server provides is the retrieval layer over it — keyword search, semantic search, ranking, and cross-linking across the whole corpus.

Tools

All tools are read-only. There are no ingest, generation, or administrative tools, by design.

Raw video transcripts are never returned, and neither is YouTube's own description text.

Setup

Create a key on your profile page — sign-in is free and so is the starter tier — then register the server with your client.

Verifying the connection

The server publishes OAuth 2.0 Protected Resource Metadata, so an unauthenticated request returns a spec-conformant challenge rather than a bare failure:

Plans

Quotas are per key and reset at 00:00 UTC. Responses carry X-RateLimit-Remaining; exceeding the quota returns 429 with a Retry-After header.

Once connected, these are the kinds of questions the server is built to answer:

• "What did Project Blue Book conclude about the 1952 Washington D.C. sightings, and what do the original documents actually say?"
• "Find sightings within 100 km of Rendlesham Forest between 1980 and 1981, and show me the source records."
• "Search the archive for anything conceptually similar to 'metallic disc observed by military radar operators' — not just those keywords."
• "What primary sources back the claims in the entity profile for the Hopkinsville goblins?"

Data provenance

Records come from public government archives — the US National Archives' Project Blue Book, the UK National Archives, France's CNES/GEIPAN, and other national disclosure releases. Every result carries the URL of the originating record so it can be verified against the source.
