What Traffic Parrot MCP server does
The Traffic Parrot MCP server gives AI coding agents access to Traffic Parrot’s public trial and information workflow. Traffic Parrot is a service virtualization product for simulating APIs and messaging systems that software depends on during testing. Through MCP, an agent can request a product trial, check whether that request is pending or ready, retrieve onboarding guidance, browse documentation, and send feedback or feature requests.
This is the public, company-operated service for learning about and trying Traffic Parrot. It is not the MCP server that runs alongside a customer’s own licensed Traffic Parrot installation.
How it works
The service is hosted at https://mcp.trafficparrot.com/ and uses remote MCP over streamable HTTP. A compatible client connects to that URL and exposes the available operations to an AI agent. The repository contains listing metadata rather than the implementation of the hosted server.
Trial requests are not completed immediately. A person at Traffic Parrot reviews each request during UK working hours. The agent can receive the request state, but the trial link is sent to the business email provided by the user and is not returned to the agent. Trial details can also be withdrawn, which erases the information sent with the request.
The Traffic Parrot MCP server does not require registration or an API key. Requests are rate limited. Calling the trial operation involves sending a real business email to Traffic Parrot, along with any supplied name, company, or phone number, so users should review the linked privacy notice before proceeding.
Setup and configuration
Configure a remote MCP server using the URL below:
https://mcp.trafficparrot.com/
Claude Code can add it with:
claude mcp add --transport http trafficparrot https://mcp.trafficparrot.com/
For Cursor, add a trafficparrot entry with that URL to ~/.cursor/mcp.json. Other clients can use the same endpoint if they support remote MCP over streamable HTTP. The supplied repository also documents configuration shapes for Cline and VS Code.
No environment variables, account signup, or API key are required according to the provided setup instructions.
Tools and capabilities
request_trial submits a trial request using a business email and optional personal or company details.
get_trial_status reports whether a request is awaiting approval, being prepared, ready, or unavailable.
delete_trial_request withdraws a request and removes the details submitted with it.
get_trial_onboarding provides startup and usage guidance, including ports, operating-system controls, license placement, and an initial mock for each supported protocol.
get_documentation returns an agent-oriented index of Traffic Parrot documentation.
submit_feature_request sends feedback or a feature request to the Traffic Parrot team.
Limitations and notes
A trial link is delivered to the user’s inbox rather than exposed to the agent. Trial approval depends on human review, so status checks may remain pending. The service is rate limited, and the repository itself does not contain a locally runnable implementation. Use the public endpoint for product discovery and trials; use the separate MCP option associated with a licensed installation when working with an existing private deployment.
