The TempGuru Event Staffing MCP server helps an agent turn event requirements into a structured staffing plan. It covers temporary event staffing in more than 300 US and Canadian markets, including conventions, conferences, trade shows, festivals, concerts, sporting events, corporate events, and brand activations.

Planning data includes staffing roles, skill tiers, all-inclusive hourly W-2 rate ranges, estimated lead times, configured-market matches, and state compliance considerations. US placements use W-2 employees of vetted local partner agencies, with workers’ compensation and liability insurance in place. Canadian workers are employed locally under Canadian rules.

The service is intended for event staffing rather than permanent hiring, office or industrial temporary work, or markets outside the US and Canada. It can support single-city events and multi-city programs managed through one vendor relationship, with invoicing handled per city per week.

How it works

Connect an MCP client to https://mcp.tempguru.co/mcp, a streamable HTTP endpoint that requires no authentication according to the published documentation. For a complete staffing request, call plan_staffing first. It combines the market match, per-role W-2 rate calculations, lead-time guidance, and state compliance flags into one plan.

If the plan does not include a plan_id, save_staffing_plan can store a complete, non-contact plan for 30 days. get_plan restores a saved plan. After the buyer reviews and confirms the details, request_quote resolves a saved plan into a prefilled TempGuru form. The buyer submits that form personally; the tool does not reserve staff, create a contract, or provide a completed roster.

The MCP server is the source of truth for current cities, roles, rates, and compliance data. Availability results provide tier-based lead-time guidance for a city, date, role, and headcount, not live inventory or order confirmation.

Tools and capabilities

• get_cities lists configured markets and can filter by state or market tier. A matching city does not confirm coverage for a particular order.

• get_policies exposes published booking and procurement terms.
• get_quote_status checks receipt status for a TempGuru reference created through a website or REST submission.
• plan_staffing, save_staffing_plan, get_plan, and request_quote support planning, temporary persistence, restoration, and buyer-controlled quote handoff.

Rates include wages, payroll taxes, workers’ compensation, general liability, and TempGuru coordination. Event-specific charges are identified on the quote before confirmation, and published rates are planning ranges rather than guaranteed quotes.
