What T-Bank Invest (read-only) does
The T-Bank Invest (read-only) MCP server gives an MCP-compatible assistant access to investment information from the T-Bank, also known as Tinkoff, Invest API. It is designed for inspection rather than account control: the server does not submit trades, withdraw funds, or modify account settings.
Available data includes investment accounts, user information, margin metrics, portfolios, positions, withdrawal limits, and active orders. Agents can also retrieve operation history, including trades, dividends, coupons, taxes, and commissions, with filtering and pagination options.
How it works
The server runs over stdio and translates MCP tool calls into read requests to the T-Bank Invest API. Instruments can be located by ticker, name, ISIN, FIGI, or UID, and the server provides detail methods for shares, bonds, ETFs, currencies, and futures. When a ticker is ambiguous, the tool can require a market-class-qualified form such as T_TQBR.
Market-data tools cover historical OHLCV candles, recent trade prices, previous-session closing prices, order books, and trading status. Technical-analysis output includes SMA, EMA, RSI, MACD, and Bollinger Bands. Other tools expose fundamental metrics, analyst forecasts, issuer report dates, bond coupons and events, accrued coupon income, dividend data, trading schedules, and a combined stock snapshot.
Responses are formatted for model consumption. Monetary values are returned as ordinary numbers with currency identified separately, while empty or zero fields are omitted in several lists. Dates use UTC, and a date-only to_date includes the full day.
Setup and configuration
The T-Bank Invest (read-only) MCP server is published on PyPI, so a typical setup uses uvx without cloning the repository:
uvx t-bank-invest-mcp-read-only
Set TBANK_INVEST_TOKEN in the MCP client configuration. The token should be issued with read-only permissions and may be restricted to one account. Claude Code can add the server with claude mcp add; Claude Desktop uses a command of uvx, the package name as its argument, and the token in env. Other stdio-capable MCP clients use the same command and environment variable.
uvx selects the latest PyPI release by default. A version can be pinned by appending it to the package name, or the Git repository can be used for an unreleased main build. Direct execution also works after exporting the environment variable. The server does not load .env files.
Tools and capabilities
- Inspect accounts, user status, margin attributes, portfolios, positions, withdrawal limits, and active orders.
- Query operations by date and filters, including cursor-based pagination.
- Search instruments and retrieve asset-specific details or complete reference lists.
- Read candles, prices, order books, trading status, schedules, and technical indicators.
- Review bond calendars, bond events, accrued interest, dividends, fundamentals, forecasts, and issuer reports.
- Use
get_stock_snapshot to combine a ticker lookup, fundamentals, price change over a selected number of sessions, and analyst consensus.
Limitations and notes
The T-Bank Invest (read-only) MCP server requires a T-Invest API token and network access to the provider. Its permissions are intentionally limited to reading. Large share, bond, ETF, and futures reference-list responses may exceed an AI client’s context window; find_instrument is the recommended approach for locating an individual security.
MCP clients store environment values in their configuration, potentially as plain text. If Claude Code writes a project-level .mcp.json, avoid committing that file because it can contain the token. A read-only token provides an additional permission boundary because trading requests are unavailable to it at the provider level.
