What Snappfood & SnappMarket MCP server does

The Snappfood & SnappMarket MCP server gives an AI agent read-only access to restaurant delivery and grocery data from Snappfood and SnappMarket in Iran. It is suited to questions such as finding the least expensive dish near an address, comparing grocery offers between stores, checking delivery charges, or locating current promotions.

Location tools turn an address, landmark, or street into coordinates, convert coordinates back into neighborhood or street names, and list served cities with their center points. Food tools cover dish search, restaurant discovery, complete menus, order-cost details, customer reviews, FoodParty promotions, single-person meals, and discounted vendors. Market tools cover product search, store discovery, store catalogs, product details, reviews, categories, and Market Party deals.

The server does not log in, manage baskets, submit orders, or process payments. Results use Toman for prices and may include availability, delivery fees, packaging charges, minimum orders, estimated delivery times, coupons, ratings, and deal windows where the source provides them.

How it works

The Snappfood & SnappMarket MCP server runs locally and communicates with an AI client over MCP using stdio. It then makes HTTPS requests to the public endpoints used by the Snappfood and SnappMarket web applications. There is no hosted intermediary or API key described in the supplied material.

Most food and market operations require lat and long, because delivery coverage, fees, menus, and prices depend on the destination. A typical food workflow starts with find_location, continues with food_find_cheapest, and can use food_order_costs to inspect the selected restaurant. For groceries, market_find_cheapest can be followed by market_store_info.

Price comparison is more than a simple displayed-price sort in the food workflow: relevant results are checked against live menus, and the cheapest-food operation considers food price, packaging, and delivery. Deal tools only expose promotions available during their active time windows.

Setup and configuration

Install uv, then run the server with uvx snapp-mcp. Python 3.10 or newer is required according to the setup notes. The package can also be installed with pip install snapp-mcp and started with snapp-mcp.

Claude Code can add it with claude mcp add snapp -- uvx snapp-mcp. Claude Desktop, Cursor, and VS Code can use the same stdio command in their MCP configuration. Cursor and VS Code also have installation links in the repository documentation.

No account or API key is required. Snappfood accepts Iranian IP addresses; when running elsewhere, configure SNAPP_MCP_PROXY with an HTTP proxy that exits in Iran. Without an Iranian IP or suitable proxy, Snappfood requests may return HTTP 403.

Tools and capabilities

The 21 tools are grouped into three areas:

• Location: find_location, reverse_geocode, and list_cities.
• Food: search dishes, find the lowest delivered total, filter restaurants, inspect menus and costs, read reviews, and find FoodParty, single-person, discounted, and Gem offers.
• Market: search products, compare in-stock prices, filter stores, inspect store information and catalogs, browse categories, view product details, read reviews, and find Market Party deals.

vendor_code values from restaurant and store results can be passed between related tools. Review tools and some product or location operations do not require coordinates, while most food and market operations do.

Limitations and notes

The Snappfood & SnappMarket MCP server is unofficial and read-only. It cannot place orders or perform payment actions. Coverage and delivery results depend on the selected location and the services available there. Prices, stock, fees, ratings, and promotions can change; FoodParty, Gem, and Market Party results are time-sensitive. Queries in Persian are described as matching best, and prices are returned in Toman.
