What seo-audit MCP server does
The seo-audit MCP server connects an MCP-compatible AI client to Inxy.ai’s website and Shopify auditing service. It assesses how likely a URL is to be cited by ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, and Google AI, while also checking conventional SEO factors.
Two URL-based audits are available. The AI-search diagnostic concentrates on AEO, GEO, and LLMO signals, including structured data, FAQs, entity information, citable statistics, author or E-E-A-T indicators, Open Graph data, and llms.txt. The full audit adds title, meta description, headings, content, HTTPS, robots.txt, XML sitemap, canonical, mobile, and related technical checks. When the target is a Shopify store, it also examines product, offer, review, and breadcrumb schema plus product image alt text.
How it works
The service is hosted remotely at https://inxy.ai/api/mcp and uses Streamable HTTP, so the client sends MCP requests to that endpoint rather than running a local process. A URL audit returns a weighted score from 0 to 100, the most important problems found, an audit identifier, and a link to a more extensive report and 30-day fix plan on Inxy.ai.
The account-specific store tool works differently. It audits the API key owner’s connected Shopify store using catalog, performance, and analytics data. It does not accept a URL and requires both an API key and a connected store.
Setup and configuration
Add the remote endpoint to an MCP client such as Claude Desktop or Cursor:
{
"mcpServers": {
"inxy-seo": {
"url": "https://inxy.ai/api/mcp"
}
}
}
For authenticated access, create a free key in Inxy account settings and send it as a Bearer authorization header. The key enables up to 10 audits per day and the full detailed breakdown. No local environment variable is specified by the project; authentication is configured in the client connection.
Tools and capabilities
The seo-audit MCP server provides these tools:
ai_search_diagnostic(url) checks a single URL for AI-search citation readiness.
full_seo_audit(url) checks AI-search signals, on-page SEO, technical SEO, and applicable Shopify markup.
get_my_store_audit() audits the API key owner’s connected Shopify store.
email_seo_report(audit_id, email, weekly) sends a written report for an audit already run in the session. Weekly delivery is optional and should only be enabled when requested.
subscribe_to_inxy(email, store_url) returns plan information and a signup link; email and store URL are optional and should only be supplied when explicitly provided.
The first two tools cover 12 universal checks. Shopify detection can add five store-focused checks. Anonymous users receive up to five audits daily, while API-key users receive up to ten. Connected stores have a higher limit and access to the deeper store report.
Limitations and notes
The endpoint is remote, and the repository contains the public MCP manifest rather than the hosted audit implementation. URL audits produce scores and leading issues, while the detailed report is available through an Inxy.ai link. Store-level analysis is unavailable without a connected Shopify store and API key. Payment and store connection for the subscription flow are completed in a browser.
