How Rember MCP works

What rember/rember-mcp does

The rember/rember-mcp MCP server lets an MCP-compatible assistant send learning material to Rember and request AI-generated flashcards. Rember schedules spaced-repetition reviews, so the resulting cards can be used to revisit information over time.

The integration is designed for content captured during an assistant conversation. For example, a user can ask the assistant to help remember an explanation, add information to Rember, or create several flashcards.

How it works

The server exposes one MCP tool, create_flashcards. The assistant supplies a list of notes, and the server passes those notes to the Rember API. Rember then generates a set of flashcards for each note. The tool response reports created Rember items rather than providing a guaranteed count of individual flashcards, so clients should not assume an exact card total unless the response explicitly provides one.

Setup and configuration

Run the server with npx and provide a Rember API key as a command-line argument:
