What radar does

The radar MCP server gives an MCP-compatible agent access to crypto perpetual funding-rate data across Binance, Bybit, OKX, Bitget, and Hyperliquid. It covers current market conditions, individual perpetual pairs, historical funding behavior, upcoming settlement windows, and differences between exchanges.

The service is aimed at research and monitoring rather than general market data. Its responses combine funding rates with related context such as settlement timing, mark price, volume, open interest, orderbook behavior, and cross-exchange comparisons when those fields apply.

How it works

The radar MCP server exposes six market-data tools plus a source-information tool. Requests can focus on the whole market or a single coin. For pair lookups, the symbol can be supplied exactly, such as BTCUSDT, or as a coin such as BTC.

Current event data is refreshed to a stated age of roughly five minutes or less. Funding rates in live event and pair responses are predictions for the next settlement, while funding_history reports charged rates. Historical values are normalized to percentage per hour and aligned to a common hourly grid, with up to 90 days of history.

Cross-exchange spread analysis distinguishes the lower-rate exchange for the long leg from the higher-rate exchange for the short leg. Results also provide historical spread context and fee assumptions used for break-even estimates.

Tools and capabilities

• funding_events finds open extreme events where the absolute hourly rate is at least 0.1% per hour, shows peak and receiving-side information, and lists leading pairs across the five exchanges.
• pair_briefing returns a consolidated view of one perpetual pair, including funding direction, next settlement timing, mark price, 24-hour volume, open-interest deviation from its seven-day norm, orderbook walls, prior wall break-through behavior, settlement-window price movement, and other exchange listings for the coin.
• funding_history compares charged funding rates for a coin across available exchanges. It includes the median and maximum spread and helps distinguish a persistent spread from a one-time spike.
• settlement_calendar lists notable settlements expected in the next hours, with a default horizon of four hours. It filters for absolute rates of at least 0.05% per hour and volume of at least $1 million, then includes observed price movement in the 15 minutes before the charge.
• spread_pairs ranks current funding-rate gaps and reports the seven-day median, how long the gap has exceeded the repay-within-a-day threshold, and break-even hours for four fee legs.

Limitations and notes

The radar MCP server covers only the exchanges and pairs available through Funding Radar; the supplied material does not specify a broader exchange universe. Live funding values can be predictive rather than final charged rates, so they should not be treated as settled outcomes. Thresholds and defaults differ by tool: extreme events use 0.1% per hour, the calendar uses 0.05% per hour plus $1 million volume, and the calendar defaults to four hours. Break-even calculations depend on the fee assumptions included in the response. The source-information tool should be used when interpreting fields or checking coverage and access terms.
