What Put It Online MCP server does
Put It Online MCP server gives an MCP client tools for publishing generated content and managing the resulting links. It can turn HTML into a web page, publish a small static site with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and images, or expose text and binary files through short public URLs. ZIP archives containing an index.html can also be served as websites.
The service accepts anonymous requests as well as authenticated account requests. Anonymous links last seven days and include a private management token. Account connections allow users to list their links and use account features when included in their plan. Published pages run sandboxed on their own links, and uploads go through a safety check before becoming live.
How it works
The hosted endpoint uses Streamable HTTP:
https://putit.online/mcp
For smaller content, upload_file accepts text directly or base64-encoded bytes. Inline uploads are limited to 20 MB. For larger files, create_upload_session reserves a link and supplies a one-time upload URL; the raw bytes can then be sent with an HTTP PUT. The client can poll get_link until the upload reaches live.
publish_site receives a file map with paths relative to the site root. The map must include index.html; images can be supplied separately as base64 data. Link status can be checking, publishing, unpublished, in_review, removed, expired, or awaiting_upload, in addition to live. Status responses can include expiry, size, views, and moderation details. View counts may be null when the account plan does not provide them.
Setup and configuration
Put It Online MCP server requires no installation when used through its remote endpoint. Connect a compatible client to the URL and authenticate with OAuth 2.1 or an API key if account access is needed. OAuth uses PKCE and supports client ID metadata documents or dynamic client registration. Anonymous use is available without authentication.
Clients that choose account authentication during connection can use:
https://putit.online/mcp/account
A bearer API key can also be sent in the Authorization header. The repository documents remote setup for Claude, Claude Code, ChatGPT, Codex, Cursor, VS Code, Gemini CLI, Windsurf, Zed, and Cline. A local stdio wrapper is available through an npm package archive and requires Node 20 or newer; PUTIT_URL selects the service URL, and PUTIT_API_KEY enables account mode.

Limitations and notes
Put It Online MCP server is a hosted service; the repository contains metadata, connection instructions, and logos rather than the service implementation. Anonymous links expire after seven days and require the returned management token for later anonymous operations. Password protection, permanent links, and expiry extension depend on the connected account's subscription. Deletion cannot be undone.
Uploads may remain in a checking or publishing state before they become shareable. Moderated content can enter review or be removed, with a removal reason and appeal URL available from link status. The service receives tool inputs and files sent to it, along with client and request metadata, but not the surrounding conversation.
