Polskie Prawo (Dziennik Ustaw) by Umowy.AI gives MCP-compatible AI clients read-only access to Polish law published in the Journal of Laws. The covered material includes codes, statutes, and regulations in full text, along with attachments and tables where available.

The database can identify whether a provision is in force, with status checked daily against the official ELI register. It can also provide the wording of a provision for a specified date, which is useful when reviewing historical contracts, compliance questions, or changes between legal versions. The service retrieves and cites provisions from its database; it does not provide legal advice or replace a lawyer.

How it works

The repository points clients to a hosted MCP endpoint rather than including a local legal database. The endpoint is https://mcp.umowy.ai/mcp and is configured as a Streamable HTTP server with OAuth 2.1. An AI client sends a database query through MCP, and the server returns legal material or metadata relevant to that request.

The server receives the query content needed to search the database. It does not access the client’s documents or conversation history. Queries are stored with an account identifier for usage-limit accounting.

Setup and configuration

Polskie Prawo (Dziennik Ustaw) by Umowy.AI can be connected through the configuration in plugins/polskie-prawo/.mcp.json, or by following the provider’s application-specific instructions. Claude Code can install the repository plugin with the Umowy.AI marketplace commands, or add the hosted server directly with an HTTP MCP configuration. Claude.ai and Claude Desktop provide a custom-connector flow.

The repository also includes Agent Plugins metadata for supported ChatGPT desktop plans and a marketplace configuration for Claude Code. Cursor, VS Code, Codex, and other MCP clients can use the remote-server configuration. Authentication uses email sign-in through WorkOS.

Unauthenticated use includes 20 trial queries. An Umowy.AI account with an active plan provides 500 queries per 30 days; the listed plan costs PLN 49 gross and includes a seven-day free period. Matching the sign-in email links the account automatically.

Tools and capabilities

The server exposes six read-only tools:

• check_provision_status checks a provision’s legal status.
• get_attachment retrieves an attachment or table.

Limitations and notes

All server tools are read-only. The service is a hosted legal-data product, separate from the MIT-licensed repository files; the hosted database service is proprietary and subject to its terms. Access is subject to email authentication and query limits. Results should be treated as retrieved legal source material, not as individualized legal advice.
