What pl-firmy: Polish company check does

pl-firmy: Polish company check exposes company-verification workflows through MCP for AI assistants and other MCP clients. Its data sources are public government services: the Polish Ministry of Finance VAT white list, the National Court Register (KRS), and the European Commission VIES service.

The server is intended for checks on Polish contractors and payment preparation. You can look up a company using its NIP, REGON, or KRS number; inspect KRS registration details; validate a European VAT number; and check whether a bank account appears on the MF VAT white list for a given NIP. A combined due-diligence operation returns a risk summary using the statuses OK, WARN, or STOP.

How it works

The service is hosted remotely and accepts MCP requests through Streamable HTTP at https://api.almmity.com/mcp. Discovery requests such as initialize and tools/list work without authentication, but invoking tools requires an API key. Send the key as Authorization: Bearer <API key> or with the X-API-Key header.

When a check runs, the service fetches live data from the configured public APIs and may cache it briefly. The payment-audit tool creates a PDF documenting the result of a check at a particular time. That document can support payment due diligence relating to article 117ba of the Polish Tax Ordinance and split-payment processes, but the service describes results as informational rather than as a guarantee of legal compliance.

Setup and configuration

Connect an MCP client directly to the Streamable HTTP endpoint with the required authorization header. Claude Desktop can use mcp-remote as a stdio bridge; the repository also provides connection examples for Cursor, VS Code, and Claude Code. A typical remote connection needs the endpoint and an API key such as plf_....

A free API key is available from the service website and includes 100 calls per month. The listed paid plans provide higher call and monitoring limits. Keep the key outside prompts and source files, and expose it to a local mcp-remote configuration through an environment variable such as PLF_API_KEY.

Tools and capabilities

• check_vat_whitelist checks VAT status and registered bank accounts in the MF white list. It can also test whether a supplied account belongs to the specified NIP.
• get_krs_extract returns current KRS information including legal form, company address, capital, and board or representation details.
• find_company searches by NIP, REGON, or KRS number.
• vies_check validates an EU VAT number through VIES.
• contractor_due_diligence combines the available checks and produces an OK, WARN, or STOP risk summary.
• payment_audit_report produces a PDF record of a payment check.
• add_watch, list_watches, and remove_watch manage daily contractor monitoring. Alerts can be sent by email or webhook when a monitored status or bank account changes.

Limitations and notes

The server is not affiliated with the Polish Ministry of Finance or Ministry of Justice. Its information comes from public APIs and can be briefly cached, so a result represents the state observed at the time of the request. The payment PDF documents that check at a given time; it should not be treated as an unconditional legal conclusion.

The hosted service is proprietary even though the repository documentation and examples are licensed under MIT.
