How it works

The local option runs the package with Node and communicates over stdio. A client can launch it with npx -y opencrater-mcp. The hosted option uses OpenCrater’s remote Streamable HTTP endpoint at https://opencrater.to/mcp, so no local package installation is needed.

Setup and configuration

For a local client configuration, define an MCP server whose command is npx and whose argument list is -y opencrater-mcp. This lets npx fetch and run the package when the client starts it.

To run from source, install the project dependencies, build the package, and start node dist/index.js:
