Nova Oneda CLI

Persistent, governed institutional memory for Claude Code — connect Nova Oneda's MCP server in one command.

Claude Code forgets everything between sessions. Ask it to build a new feature six weeks after you decided "we're not using Redux, we tried it in Q2 and it caused more bugs than it fixed" and it'll cheerfully suggest Redux again. Nova Oneda gives Claude Code that memory back — it pulls relevant past decisions and context automatically before substantial work, and records new ones as you go, so institutional knowledge survives context resets, session restarts, and team turnover.

Install

Terminal

Requires Node.js 18+ and Claude Code already installed.

Get an API key

Nova Oneda accounts are free to create, and new accounts get 50 free AI-assisted memory calls before you ever need to connect your own Anthropic key:

Sign up at oneda.freeelatech.com
Open the API Keys page and create a key (starts with nv_live_)

Setup

Or set it once as an environment variable and omit --key on every run:

This validates the key, confirms Claude Code is installed, registers Nova Oneda as an MCP server in your Claude Code config, and stores the key locally so you don't need to pass it again.

Commands

`nova-oneda doctor`	Check that your key and Claude Code connection are healthy
`nova-oneda uninstall` (alias `remove`)	Remove Nova Oneda from Claude Code and delete the local credential

Where your key is stored

macOS — system Keychain, via the built-in security tool
Linux — Secret Service (libsecret), via secret-tool, when available
Everywhere else — an AES-256-GCM encrypted file under ~/.nova-oneda/, mode 0600

Your key is never written to a plaintext file or checked into any project directory.

Once connected

Just use Claude Code normally. Nova Oneda works automatically in the background — pulling relevant memory before substantial work, and recording decisions when you ask it to ("Remember that we chose Postgres for billing, in Nova Oneda"). See oneda.freeelatech.com after signing in for the full list of what you can ask it to do.

Uninstalling

nova-oneda uninstall

This removes Nova Oneda from Claude Code and deletes your locally stored key. Your account and everything Nova Oneda has already remembered stay available at oneda.freeelatech.com — this only removes the local connection.
