What NuVista Haven MCP Server MCP server does
NuVista Haven MCP Server MCP server connects an AI assistant to NuVista Haven’s vacation-rental inventory and the Hospitable Public API v2. Its four MCP tools cover the main pre-booking questions a guest may ask:
search_properties identifies the available NuVista Haven properties.
check_availability checks whether a property is free for requested dates using Hospitable calendar data.
get_quote estimates the stay price from nightly rates, the number of nights, and a cleaning fee when that fee can be found.
get_booking_link returns the direct property URL on nuvistahaven.com.
The server is intended for read-only guest assistance. It does not create, update, or cancel reservations, even if the Hospitable token itself has write permissions.
How it works
The implementation includes a canonical registry of 12 properties and a mapping from those properties to Hospitable IDs. Availability and quote operations depend on those mappings. Properties that have not been mapped, or that require human confirmation, are refused by the relevant tools rather than queried with an uncertain ID.
The Hospitable client permits only HTTP GET requests to an allow-list of read paths, including user, property, and reservation resources. The calendar is treated as the source of truth for availability. Although reservation listing logic exists, reservations are not currently used as a second availability check.
Quote totals may be partial estimates. Cleaning fees are not included in calendar day data, so the implementation looks for common fee fields on the property record. If no fee is found, the response marks total_is_partial_estimate as true instead of treating the fee as zero. Booking links are returned without date query parameters because date pre-filling has not been verified.
Setup and configuration
Create a Python virtual environment, install the requirements, and provide the Hospitable Personal Access Token through HOSPITABLE_API_TOKEN. The token is read from the environment only; the code does not hardcode, log, or persist it.
Run server.py without arguments for local stdio use. Add --http --port 8000 to serve the MCP endpoint over Streamable HTTP. The repository also includes mocked tests that run without a token.
Before production use, run the property-ID matcher with a live token and review every mapping flagged for human confirmation. The calendar request uses start_date and end_date; verify that the deployed Hospitable API honors those parameters before relying on longer availability windows.
Tools and capabilities
NuVista Haven MCP Server MCP server supports property discovery, date-based availability checks, rate and cleaning-fee estimates, and direct booking navigation. Its data path is read-only, and its local logic is separated from the MCP entry point for testing.
Limitations and notes
The project documents several live-API assumptions that require verification. Calendar parameter behavior may affect availability windows, cleaning-fee field shapes may vary, and direct-site date prefill is not confirmed. A valid token alone is not enough for availability or quote requests: each property must first have a confirmed Hospitable mapping.
