What My Insure Bank (MIB) MCP server does

My Insure Bank (MIB) MCP server exposes insurance marketplace functions from My Insure Bank, a NAICOM-licensed Nigerian marketplace operated by PRA Insurance Brokers. It is intended for AI assistants that need to gather quote inputs, compare current offers, review an existing policy, or direct a customer to checkout.

The quote comparison tool covers motor, health, travel, and gadget insurance. Results come from MIB partner insurers, including names such as NSIA, Universal, Heirs, Tangerine, Cornerstone, NEM, WellaHealth, and emPLE. Offers include a purchase URL. Amounts are returned in Nigerian naira.

A separate policy checkup provides a second opinion on whether a customer may be paying too much for an existing policy. That operation requires the customer's name and phone number, and MIB's licensed brokers may follow up.

How it works

The server uses MCP Streamable HTTP and is available at:

https://mcp.myinsurebank.com/mcp

It runs as a stateless Cloudflare Worker that communicates with MIB's public storefront API. Agents do not need to manage a session or provide an API key for ordinary access. An optional partner key can be sent as a bearer token for attribution; partner API keys are obtained through MIB's developer program.

A typical quoting flow starts with get_quote_requirements. The agent uses the returned fields to collect the rating information required for the selected insurance line, then calls compare_insurance_quotes. Before purchase, get_purchase_requirements identifies the remaining information needed. get_buy_link then creates a hosted checkout URL for the selected offer.

Payment stays outside the agent. Customers complete the purchase on MIB's hosted checkout, where they sign in, review the details, and pay.

Setup and configuration

Add the Streamable HTTP URL to an MCP-compatible client. Claude Code can be configured with claude mcp add --transport http mib https://mcp.myinsurebank.com/mcp. Cursor and other clients using mcp.json can define an MCP server named mib with the same URL. Codex uses the URL in its MCP server configuration.

No environment variables or secrets are required for the public server endpoint. Partner API keys are optional and are intended for attribution and deeper partner integrations rather than basic MCP access.

Limitations and notes

The server is focused on MIB's Nigerian marketplace and returns amounts in NGN. Quote inputs vary by insurance line, so agents should request the requirements before asking for a comparison. Motor checkout may require extensive vehicle information, including make, model, year, body type, colour, usage, plate, chassis or VIN, engine number, and seats, along with the insured's address and a next of kin.

The MCP tools provide access to quote, catalogue, review, and checkout-link functions. The agent does not collect payment itself; the customer finishes the transaction through MIB's hosted checkout.
