Overview

Inflectiv MCP server connects MCP-compatible AI clients to the Inflectiv data platform for agent management, dataset operations, semantic search, knowledge ingestion, and RAG-enabled chat. It runs through the `@inflectiv-ai/inflectiv-mcp` npm package and authenticates with an Inflectiv API key. Global keys enable account-wide dataset operations such as cloning and cross-querying, while an optional wallet key supports x402 USDC payments on Base. How Inflectiv works

What the Inflectiv MCP server does

The Inflectiv MCP server exposes the Inflectiv data platform through the Model Context Protocol. It lets an AI client manage agents, datasets, knowledge entries, uploaded files, and webhooks without requiring a separate custom integration.

Agents can be created, inspected, configured, and used for multi-turn chat with RAG-enabled responses. Dataset operations include listing, creation, cloning, metadata updates, vector reindexing, semantic search, batch search, and queries spanning multiple datasets. Knowledge entries can be written individually or in batches, automatically embedded, deduplicated, listed, filtered, and paginated.

File ingestion supports PDF, DOCX, TXT, Markdown, HTML, XML, CSV, JSON, JSONL, TSV, XLSX, XLS, and Parquet files. ChainAware tools provide predictive wallet fraud and AML risk, rug-pull risk, and on-chain credit scores.

How it works

The package runs as an MCP process using npx -y @inflectiv-ai/inflectiv-mcp. An MCP client starts the process and passes credentials through environment variables. Tool calls are then made against the Inflectiv platform using the configured API key.

A per-dataset key scopes dataset operations to one dataset, so dataset-scoped calls do not require a dataset ID. A global key can access the datasets owned by the account and active marketplace acquisitions. It also enables account-level operations such as creating or cloning datasets and using cross-dataset queries.

The Inflectiv MCP server includes free and paid operations. Searching, writing knowledge, creating agents, chatting, file uploads, reindexing, and ChainAware analysis are identified as paid capabilities in the tool list, while many listing and inspection operations are free.

Setup and configuration

Obtain an API key from the Inflectiv dashboard by opening Datasets, selecting a dataset, and creating a key. Add the server to an MCP client with the npx command and set INFLECTIV_API_KEY. The key must use Inflectiv's inf_ format.

Claude Desktop uses an mcpServers entry with command set to npx, the package name in args, and the API key in env. Claude Code can add the same process with claude mcp add. Cursor, Windsurf, and other MCP-compatible clients can run the package with the environment variable set.

INFLECTIV_WALLET_PRIVATE_KEY is optional. When configured, it supplies an EVM wallet for x402 payments in USDC on Base after available credits reach zero.

  • Check ChainAware fraud, AML, rug-pull, and credit indicators for wallets.

Limitations and notes

Cross-dataset queries, dataset creation, and dataset cloning require a global key; cross-query also requires the advanced tier. Webhook endpoints must use HTTPS. Reindexing is intended after bulk changes. Dataset modes can be switched between read_only and self_learning, and tool availability or cost depends on the operation and account credits.
