What Indonesia Law does
The Indonesia Law MCP server gives agents access to Indonesian national legal records and selected Constitutional Court judicial-review materials. Its sources are two official legal-documentation portals: the State Secretariat portal at jdih.setneg.go.id and the House of Representatives portal at jdih.dpr.go.id.
The coverage includes Undang-Undang statutes, Perpu, government regulations, presidential regulations, selected executive instruments, and DPR-documented Constitutional Court review outcomes. Records can include titles, citations, enactment and promulgation dates, legal status, gazette references, relations to other instruments, abstracts, drafting information, and links to signed or source PDFs.
This is an appropriate fit for the ⚖️ Legal category when an agent needs Indonesian-language legal research, statute lookup, amendment tracing, or review-outcome discovery. The judicial-review material is based on DPR documentation and resumes rather than the Constitutional Court's complete judgments.
How it works
The Indonesia Law MCP server makes live calls to the underlying portals rather than relying on a bundled legal database. It does not require an API key. Search terms for the State Secretariat register match Indonesian title words, so an Indonesian term such as “pajak” is needed instead of the English word “tax.”
The register search can filter by instrument type, year, legal status, limit, and offset. A detail request identifies one instrument by type, number, and year, then returns its register record, files, and related instruments. Relations can identify amendments, repeals, implementing regulations, and judicial review.
DPR records can be listed by instrument type and year, then filtered by title. A statute detail request adds the Indonesian abstract, drafting notes, responsible commission, status relationships, article-level Constitutional Court effects, implementing regulations, and the source PDF. Review searches cover granted petitions, rejected or inadmissible petitions, DPR analyses, and DPR statements; individual review documents are retrieved by URL.
Setup and configuration
Through the gateway, configure an MCP client with the streamable HTTP endpoint https://gateway.pipeworx.io/indonesia-law/mcp. The full Pipeworx gateway is also available at https://gateway.pipeworx.io/mcp. Gateway connections include shared Pipeworx meta-tools in addition to the pack's tools.
For a local connection, run the package with npx -y @pipeworx/mcp-indonesia-law and configure the command as a stdio MCP server. The local mode exposes only the Indonesia Law tools and does not add the gateway's shared meta-tools. The same tools can also be called over HTTP through the gateway's /v1/tools/ endpoints.
Tools and capabilities
The Indonesia Law MCP server provides these main operations:
- Search the national register by title words, type, year, status, and pagination.
- Retrieve detailed register records and related legal instruments.
- List DPR statutes and executive instruments by type and year.
- Inspect DPR statute details, article-level status, and implementing regulations.
- Search Constitutional Court review documentation by query, category, and year.
- Retrieve metadata and resume PDFs for individual review documents.
Limitations and notes
The sources are live government portals, so availability and returned records can change. DPR keyword search is not used because its server-rendered search form does not return usable results; listing by type and year is used instead. The State Secretariat detail record does not itself provide legal status, so status is obtained from the corresponding register search.
Some related instruments may be marked as outside the State Secretariat register while still retaining a citation. Other Indonesian legal portals and court sites were not usable during development because of timeouts, access controls, Cloudflare challenges, or authentication requirements. Review documents from DPR should therefore be treated as summaries and institutional materials, not as the full text of Constitutional Court decisions.
