What akta.pro-MCP MCP server does
akta.pro-MCP MCP server gives AI agents access to akta.pro data covering more than 20 million entity-resolved private companies and more than 30,000 monitored sub-sectors. It can resolve a company from a name or website, map free-text industry language to ranked codes, retrieve company information, discover relevant news, and generate filtered company lists.
Company research is available in two forms. company_data returns a structured Markdown profile with explicitly selected sections and per-section billing. company_data_concise returns a flat-rate, condensed JSON overview. Available profile coverage includes areas such as firmographics, business model, products, management, financials, technology, and industry classifications; funding and M&A sections require Enterprise access.
News tools support filters for companies, industries, queries, titles, sentiment, event types, dates, and other supported fields. news_signals returns summaries and metadata, while news_detail retrieves the full body for article IDs returned by that search, with a maximum of 10 articles per call.
How it works
The akta.pro-MCP MCP server is a remote Streamable HTTP endpoint with SSE compatibility. Requests return synchronously, so agents do not need to poll for results. Responses use deterministic schemas, and the service provides source attribution. Most tools return JSON; company_data returns Markdown.
A typical workflow starts with the zero-credit company_search or industry_search tools. Agents can then request a profile, filter news, or build a company list. list_filters exposes the fields supported by generate_company_list, while get_filter_values returns permitted values for selected filters. account_status reports the current plan and remaining credit balance, and news_types exposes the event taxonomy used for news filtering.
Setup and configuration
No local installation is required. Configure an MCP client with:
https://mcp.akta.pro/mcp
Claude Web/Desktop uses native connector authentication, and ChatGPT uses OAuth. API-key clients send the key in an x-api-key header. The README provides configurations for Cursor, VS Code, Claude Code, and OpenCode. For OpenCode, the documented environment variable is AKTA_API_KEY.
API keys can be obtained through the akta.pro playground. Usage follows a pay-as-you-go credit model, while subscription and Enterprise plans unlock additional capabilities.
Tools and capabilities
- Resolve companies and industries with
company_search and industry_search.
- Retrieve concise or sectioned company profiles.
- Discover filtered news and fetch article bodies.
- Generate company lists from structured filters or natural-language queries.
- Inspect headcount, website traffic, employee reviews, product reviews, job posts, and social posts when the plan permits.
- Check account credits, news event types, and valid list-filter values before making paid requests.
Limitations and notes
Alternative-signal tools require a Subscription or Enterprise plan. Enterprise-only access includes funding and M&A profile sections. company_data is billed by requested section, whereas the concise profile has a flat rate; the resolve-first tools listed in the README cost zero credits.
News results contain summaries and metadata rather than the full article body. Full content must be requested separately with news_detail, using article IDs from news_signals, and no more than 10 articles can be requested in one call. Location fields are normalized to country codes, and supported industry classifications include NAICS, SIC, IPTC, and IAB.
The akta.pro-MCP MCP server is a commercial, proprietary service. The listed compliance information includes SOC 2 Type II certification, ISO 27001 compliance, encryption in transit and at rest, and a policy that customer data is not used to train AI models.
