What AION Indian Market Intelligence does

AION Indian Market Intelligence MCP server gives MCP clients access to sector-impact analysis for Indian financial news. The primary use case is turning a market headline into a signed vector that indicates how the event is associated with sectors. The repository contains an open-source MCP wrapper, not the proprietary intelligence engine. The wrapper sends requests to a hosted AION API and exposes the result through one MCP tool. How it works

The available tool is analyze_news. It takes two inputs:

• headline: the Indian financial headline to analyze
• published_at: the publication time, supplied as a timestamp such as 2026-06-05T10:00:00+05:30

The tool returns a JSON object containing sector_vector. The wrapper passes through that field rather than the full response from the Python SDK or REST API. Values in the README's example are only illustrative shape data, so they should not be treated as a demonstrated prediction or validation result.

AION Indian Market Intelligence connects to the hosted API at runtime. The inference model and the Python SDK package are proprietary, while the MCP wrapper in this repository is open source. API access is subscription-based and authenticated with a user key.

Setup and configuration

The package can be launched without a permanent installation using uvx aion-indian-market-intelligence-mcp. It can also be installed with pip and started with the aion-indian-market-intelligence-mcp command. Both approaches run the MCP server over stdio.

Set AION_API_KEY in the server process environment before making tool calls. The project provides an API-key registration page at the AION dashboard. For Claude Desktop, configure the server with uvx as the command, the package name as its argument, and the key under the server's env object.

Tools and capabilities

AION Indian Market Intelligence provides one documented capability:

• analyze_news: submits an Indian financial headline and publication timestamp, returning its sector-impact vector as structured JSON.

This narrow interface can be used by an MCP-compatible agent that already has access to Indian market headlines. It does not itself document a news-feed tool, a general market-data tool, or a way to retrieve the complete REST response.

Limitations and notes

An API key is required for hosted analysis, and the API is accessed by subscription. The proprietary inference engine is not distributed with the repository, so running the wrapper does not provide a local model or offline analysis.

The tool exposes only sector_vector; other response fields from the SDK are intentionally omitted. The README confirms stdio compatibility and reports that initialization and tool discovery were tested, but the Claude Desktop configuration is an example rather than certification for every MCP client. AION Indian Market Intelligence is therefore best suited to clients that support standard stdio MCP servers.

The wrapper is licensed under AGPL-3.0-or-later. The hosted service, proprietary engine, Python SDK, registration process, and API terms remain distinct from the wrapper's source code and license.
