What the Aides sociales francaises MCP server does
The Aides sociales francaises MCP server exposes two MCP tools for estimating French social benefits. It uses OpenFisca-France locally to calculate an estimated monthly RSA amount, prime d’activité amount, and housing assistance amount. The housing result identifies the applicable scheme when the inputs support it: APL, ALS, or ALF.
The service is intended for developers and AI agents embedding benefit calculations into software, not as a standalone official eligibility service. Results include the calculation month and the assumptions used. The estimates are not CAF or MSA decisions, and simplified assumptions can affect the result.
How it works
The hosted endpoint is https://mcp-aides-sociales.onrender.com/mcp. Requests must include an API key in the X-API-Key header. Calculations are performed locally with OpenFisca-France; the service does not call api.fr.openfisca.org or another external calculation API.
The calculer_aides_sociales tool accepts net monthly income, rent, housing status, number of children, relationship status, and optionally a partner’s net income and the commune’s INSEE code. Without an INSEE code, the RSA housing-zone check uses zone 2 as its default for that check.
The calculer_apl tool requires gross monthly salary and a five-character INSEE commune code. It derives the housing zone from OpenFisca-France’s embedded zoning data. The rent should exclude charges, and only the individual share should be supplied for a shared rental. Gross income is required here because the calculation uses OpenFisca-France’s payroll logic for the real-time housing-resource base.
Setup and configuration
Create a free account by sending an email address to /signup-free. The service emails a key with a free_ prefix and allows 50 requests per month. A paid Standard plan provides unlimited usage at the listed monthly price, with the access key sent after payment. Requests beyond the free quota return HTTP 402.
Configure the remote MCP URL and key in Claude Desktop or Cursor. In Claude Desktop, edit the platform-specific MCP configuration file; in Cursor, use the MCP settings or ~/.cursor/mcp.json. Add the server URL and set X-API-Key to the issued key, then restart or reload the client.
The hosted service may take 30–60 seconds to answer after inactivity because it runs on a free hosting plan. Later requests are expected to respond faster.
Tools and capabilities
calculer_aides_sociales: estimates monthly RSA and prime d’activité.
calculer_apl: estimates APL, ALS, or ALF and reports the applicable scheme.
- Supports household composition, children, partner income, rent, housing status, commune INSEE codes, and optional co-location handling for housing calculations.
- Uses local OpenFisca-France data and computation rather than a public API.
Limitations and notes
The Aides sociales francaises MCP server models a stable salaried-income situation with simplified assumptions. The housing tool does not calculate self-employed income, unemployment benefits, pensions, invalidity income, or property income. It also excludes certain cases such as first-time buyers with an active loan, foyer or CROUS accommodation, and some specially treated elderly or disabled housing situations.
For housing calculations, primo_accedant and locataire_foyer are rejected as outside the tool’s scope. loge_gratuitement and sans_domicile can produce zero or non-eligible housing assistance where that reflects the modeled rules. The RSA calculation includes a fixed housing forfait when the household is housed; this is separate from the estimated housing benefit and does not represent the actual rent.
