What agentdomain-mcp MCP server does

The agentdomain-mcp MCP server gives an MCP-compatible client access to AgentDomain’s domain and account operations. Agents can create or access an account, inspect account details, search for domains, check pricing and availability, register domains, and list domains already associated with the account.

It also covers ongoing domain administration. The available tools can read and update DNS records, including common record types such as A, CNAME, MX, and TXT, and can retrieve the EPP authorization code needed for a transfer. Wallet tools report the current balance, create a top-up session, and list wallet transactions.

How it works

The server communicates with the AgentDomain API, whose default base URL is https://api.agentdomain.cloud. Registration or login establishes access, and the API key is saved locally by the server. A typical workflow is:

1. Register a new AgentDomain account or log in to an existing one.
2. Verify the account through the email link if registering.
3. Add funds using wallet_topup.
4. Search with domain_search or inspect a specific name with domain_check.
5. Register the selected domain with domain_buy.
6. Read or change DNS records with domain_dns_get and domain_dns_update.

The account and wallet tools can be used independently for checking status or transaction history. Domain purchases require an account and available wallet funds, according to the documented workflow.

Setup and configuration

Install the package with either:

uvx agentdomain-mcp

or:

pip install agentdomain-mcp

For Claude Desktop, Cursor, or Windsurf, add an MCP server entry that runs uvx with agentdomain-mcp as its argument. The same command can be placed in the documented Hermes Agent configuration. No API key is listed as a required environment variable; the server saves the key locally after account registration or login.

AGENTDOMAIN_API changes the API base URL when a non-default endpoint is needed. If it is not set, the server uses https://api.agentdomain.cloud.

DNS changes should be treated as account-level operations because the available interface is exposed through the authenticated AgentDomain account.

The package is released under the MIT license. The repository documentation does not specify the location of the locally saved API key or provide detailed parameter schemas for each tool, so those details should be checked from the running server or package documentation before automation.
