AetherWave-Studio/aetherwave-mcp MCP server connects MCP-compatible clients to AetherWave Studio’s unified creative API. It provides tools for generating music, images, and video, along with utilities for editing, upscaling, reframing, background removal, and audio mastering. How it works

A client invokes an MCP tool with the requested prompt, source URL, model, and optional output settings. For generation operations, AetherWave submits the job, waits for a terminal result, and returns the resulting media URL instead of requiring the agent to implement its own polling loop. Video jobs can be polled for up to eight minutes according to the tool reference.

Generated results are automatically saved to the AetherWave Cloudflare R2 gallery. The aetherwave_list_my_creations tool provides a paginated read of that gallery, which supports workflows that pass earlier outputs into later operations. Video generation can use a KIE and fal fallback for the default Grok Imagine path, while background removal also has a documented fallback provider.

Setup and configuration

The package runs as a local stdio MCP server. Install or launch it with:

Set AETHERWAVE_API_KEY to a developer key obtained from the AetherWave Studio profile’s Developer tab. The same environment variable can be placed in an MCP client configuration. The README gives configurations for Claude Code, Claude Desktop, Cursor, Continue, and custom JSON-RPC clients that communicate over stdio.

The first key includes free credits and does not require a card, but operations consume credits according to the selected model and operation. The balance and current plan are available through aetherwave_balance.

Tools and capabilities

The tool surface includes:

• Listing image models, video models, and audio-mastering presets with pricing or model metadata.
• Generating images with aspect ratio, resolution, reference image, output-count, seed, and optional negative-prompt controls.
• Editing an image from a public source URL using a text instruction.
• Upscaling images by 1x, 2x, 4x, or 8x, and upscaling video to 1080p or 2K.
• Reframing images or video to a new aspect ratio.
• Removing image backgrounds with automatic fallback behavior, or removing video backgrounds frame by frame into transparent WebM or a solid-color output.
• Generating two Suno tracks per music submission, with optional custom lyrics, titles, and instrumental mode.
• Mastering audio with twelve genre or style presets; the documented cost is 20 credits per track, with mastering free on Producer, Mogul, and Ultimate plans.

Limitations and notes

Model availability, supported resolutions, durations, aspect ratios, and credit costs vary by model. Some image-to-image and image-to-video operations require a public source image URL. Video duration ranges from two to thirty seconds at the tool level, while individual models may support narrower ranges. The default image, video, music, and image-edit models are selected automatically, but agents can request specific model IDs.
