What ActableSite AI Crawler Monitor MCP server does

The ActableSite AI Crawler Monitor MCP server provides read-only checks against public HTTP and HTTPS websites. Its website audit examines public identity, offer evidence, action paths, discovery files, metadata, and structured data. A separate policy check evaluates crawler rules for eight tokens associated with OpenAI, Anthropic, Perplexity, and Google.

The server also exposes three informational offer tools. Crawler Watch metadata covers its stated monthly price, one-site scope, 15-minute checking cadence, confirmation condition, delivery, cancellation, and synthetic-check limitations. The full-report tool describes an optional one-time report, while Practice Radar returns information about its weekly edition, public sample, price, delivery, cancellation, and NPI limitations. None of these tools starts checkout or purchases a service.

How it works

The hosted endpoint uses MCP over Streamable HTTP at https://actablesite.com/mcp/ and does not require authentication. Calls are limited to 60 per caller per hour. Requests are restricted to public HTTP and HTTPS destinations; private, local, loopback, and reserved network addresses are rejected.

The ActableSite AI Crawler Monitor MCP server reports current public evidence but does not create background monitoring jobs. Ongoing checks are provided separately by Crawler Watch, which checks one public website for crawler policy, synthetic homepage responses, sitemap.xml, and llms.txt every 15 minutes. Email notification follows a changed state appearing twice. Synthetic requests do not authenticate provider IP ranges or establish that crawling, indexing, citation, ranking, or traffic occurred.

Setup and configuration

Add the hosted server to Claude Code with:

Other MCP clients can use the same URL, the Streamable HTTP transport, and no authentication. For clients that require stdio, clone the repository and run npm run start:stdio from its directory. Node.js 20 or newer is required. A matching non-root container is also available at ghcr.io/unitedideas/actablesite-mcp:1.4.2.

The stdio bridge sends requests only to ActableSite's bounded public JSON APIs and has no file, shell, browser, account, or write capability. The hosted implementation and distribution version 1.4.2 expose the same five tools.

Limitations and notes

The ActableSite AI Crawler Monitor MCP server has no browser control, file access, account access, authentication-header support, or mutation tools. Results do not guarantee crawling, indexing, citation, ranking, recommendation, traffic, legal compliance, or revenue. Practice Radar records do not prove licensure, active operation, demand, or buying intent and should be verified before contact. Offer tools are informational and require explicit confirmation before any separate purchase action.
