What Achriom MCP server does

Achriom MCP server gives AI clients access to a personal library spanning seven media types: books, movies, albums, television shows, anime, podcasts, and games. The library can contain collection metadata, ratings, statuses, notes, priorities, and progress information. Game records can include platforms, estimated time to beat, screenshots, and franchises.

The server supports both discovery and collection maintenance. An agent can search by title, creator, genre, theme, or mood, including semantic search across the library. It can also retrieve item details with AI analysis and notes, identify patterns in ratings or genres, update collection fields, and manage cross-media lists or mixtapes.

How it works

The Achriom MCP server is hosted remotely and exposes its endpoint at https://mcp.achriom.com/mcp. Clients connect through MCP and authenticate with OAuth using an Achriom account. The README describes 43 tools and 15 librarian prompts. External clients receive the raw tools, while the in-app librarian additionally has access to conversation history, current research focus, and presentation context.

The service also reaches beyond the saved collection for selected media workflows. Albums can provide 30-second Apple Music previews, YouTube search can locate trailers, interviews, and video essays, and uploaded EPUBs can be searched semantically. Game data is supplied by IGDB.com.

Setup and configuration

A free Achriom account is required, and MCP access is included with all plans. For Claude Desktop, add a custom connector in Settings → Connectors, enter Achriom, use the remote MCP URL, and sign in. Claude users can instead install the Achriom plugin, which includes MCP access and Achriom-specific skills; the README notes that this option requires a paid Claude plan.

Other MCP clients should use the same remote URL with OAuth. The project links to connection details at app.achriom.com/mcp. ChatGPT users can open the Achriom ChatGPT app and authenticate there; the README does not describe that route as a general custom MCP configuration.

External clients receive raw MCP tools and do not automatically receive the broader context available to Achriom’s in-app librarian. The README does not list individual tool names or provide client-specific setup instructions beyond Claude, ChatGPT, and the general OAuth endpoint. Access depends on an Achriom account, and Claude’s plugin path requires a paid Claude plan even though MCP access is available on all Achriom plans.
