Two notes that save the most time, on Windows and macOS alike:

• Adding the marketplace by its full HTTPS URL avoids an SSH key a fresh machine does not have:

  The .git suffix matters.
• Windows works. Claude Code runs natively on Windows, and Git for Windows is optional. If you do not have Git, connect-tool installs without it:

Stuck on credentials? That is what connect-tool is for: it drives the Chrome you are already logged into, puts the API key straight into Windows Credential Manager or the macOS Keychain, and refuses to say "connected" until a real authenticated call returns your live data.
