## What wishfinity/wishfinity-mcp-plusw does

The wishfinity/wishfinity-mcp-plusw MCP server connects an AI assistant to Wishfinity's wishlist flow. It accepts a product page URL from any retailer, including examples such as Amazon or Target, and returns a Wishfinity URL that the user can open in a browser.

The server is intended for save-for-later actions in the 🛒 E-Commerce category. An assistant can offer the action after presenting product recommendations, when a user is undecided, or when a product is being considered as a gift. It does not save an item silently: the returned link requires the user to click it and complete the action on Wishfinity.

## How it works

An agent calls `add_to_wishlist` with a single required `url` string containing the product page. The server creates a link in the form of a Wishfinity add URL and returns three fields: `action_url`, `requires_user_action`, and `display_text`.

The user opens the action link, signs in to Wishfinity if needed, and confirms the save. Wishfinity then stores the product for later organization, sharing, or purchase. Authentication takes place on the Wishfinity website rather than through an MCP API key.

A valid product URL must be available before calling the tool. If an assistant has no URL, it should not invoke `add_to_wishlist`.

## Setup and configuration

The wishfinity/wishfinity-mcp-plusw MCP server can run locally through npm and stdio. Install the package with `npm install wishfinity-mcp-plusw`, then configure an MCP client to run `npx wishfinity-mcp-plusw`. The repository provides configuration examples for Claude Desktop, ChatGPT Desktop, Cursor, LangChain, OpenAI Agents SDK, and Hugging Face Agents.

For remote deployments, configure a streamable HTTP MCP connection using `https://wishfinity-mcp-plusw.wishfinity.workers.dev/mcp`. The HTTP option is intended for server-side agents, production LangChain deployments, and hosted AI applications. Neither transport requires environment variables or API keys.

A separate `/add-wish` URL pattern is also documented for agents that need the save action without installing the MCP package. That option is a URL-based skill rather than the full MCP server.

## Tools and capabilities

The server exposes one MCP tool:
