## Description
Write, publish, and manage Velog (velog.io) posts, series, comments, and trends. 29 tools.

## Tools
Capabilities this server exposes over MCP:

- **velog_publish_post** — 초안(draft_id)을 Velog에 발행합니다. velog_draft_post 호출 후 사용하세요.
- **velog_delete_comment** — Velog 댓글을 삭제합니다.
- **velog_update_comment** — Velog 댓글 내용을 수정합니다.
- **velog_get_notifications** — 내 Velog 알림 목록을 가져옵니다.
- **velog_create_series** — 새 Velog 시리즈를 생성합니다.
- **velog_append_to_series** — 포스트를 시리즈에 추가합니다. post_id는 velog_publish_post 또는 velog_list_posts 응답에서 확인할 수 있습니다.
- **velog_delete_series** — Velog 시리즈를 삭제합니다.

## Documentation

## What Velog MCP server does

Velog MCP server exposes Velog account and content operations through MCP. It can create a post draft, return a draft ID for review, and publish that draft as public or private content. Existing posts can be listed, read, updated, or deleted, and local images can be uploaded for use as Markdown URLs.

The server also covers community and discovery workflows. Agents can read, write, edit, and delete comments, including replies; like or unlike posts; search posts; inspect notifications and unread counts; and retrieve a user's reading list. RSS retrieval for a Velog user is available without authentication.

Series can be created, renamed, assigned a new URL slug, populated with posts, or deleted without deleting the posts inside them. Tag counts and temporary saved posts are also available for account maintenance.

## How it works

The server runs as an MCP process and is intended for MCP-compatible clients. Authentication uses Velog's `access_token` and `refresh_token` values, which are obtained from Velog cookies in a browser. Public RSS access is an exception and does not require authentication.

A typical publishing flow starts with `velog_draft_post`, which stores the draft in session memory and returns a `draft_id`. The client can present the draft for review before calling `velog_publish_post`. Operations that publish or delete content should be reviewed before confirmation because they can be difficult to reverse.

Trend tools retrieve trending posts for a selected period, summarize tags and engagement data, and provide inputs for development-trend reports. Topic research compares trending tag frequency with the user's post-tag history to identify popular subjects that have not yet been covered.

## Setup and configuration

Node.js 18 or newer is required. Install the authentication helper with:

```bash
npx -p velog-mcp-claude velog-mcp-setup
```

The helper stores the Velog tokens taken from the `velog.io` cookies named `access_token` and `refresh_token`. Register the server with an MCP client using the npm package:

```bash
claude mcp add velog -- npx -y velog-mcp-claude
```

The package is designed for clients such as Claude Code, Claude Desktop, and Codex CLI. Its implementation relies on Velog's internal GraphQL API, so changes to that API may interrupt functionality without advance notice.

## Tools and capabilities

- Create, review, publish, update, and delete Velog posts.
- Upload local images and use returned URLs in Markdown.
- List, read, search, and retrieve RSS content from Velog users.
- Manage comments, replies, likes, notifications, bookmarks, tags, and temporary posts.
- Create and maintain series, then append posts to them.
- Analyze trending posts and find uncovered topic opportunities.
- Import Markdown from GitHub blog repositories into Velog drafts. The importer supports `_posts` directories from Jekyll, Hugo, and other static-blog layouts, with a dry-run preview option.
- Inspect git commits and diffs to produce context for a blog draft based on recent coding work.

## Limitations and notes

Velog authentication requires browser cookie tokens, and authenticated account operations depend on those tokens remaining valid. The server uses a reverse-engineered internal GraphQL API, which may change and cause unexpected interruptions. Publishing publicly and deleting posts or other content are consequential actions; inspect the content and approve the operation before allowing the client to proceed.
